The Learning and Development Specialist is integral to the success of the Talent and Organizational Effectiveness team. You will join a team to implement the organization's learning and development strategy so that we have engaged, high-performing employees positioned to meet Ingevity's current and future needs. In this role you will be responsible for the efficient, effective execution of orientation, learning and development programs and ongoing maintenance and enhancements of learning processes and systems.
Here's how you will impact Ingevity:
Program and Project Management:
- Apply project management tools and skills to ensure the on-time launch and flawless execution of projects from concept to close.
- Identify, document and ensure implementation of process improvements
- Prepares training documentation, such as training content, manuals, notes, questionnaires, and other support materials and distributes course materials and teaching aides as required for each type of program.
- Coordinates and arranges for the use of audio visual and other necessary equipment, finds and arranges facilities for training, may make catering arrangements for meals and refreshments.
- Prepares appropriate forms, correspondence, and records regarding course attendance, feedback on programs, instructors, etc.
- Manage overall project work plans, defining approach, timing and key deliverables and ensures that team meets all project deliverables and timelines and manages logistics for learning programs, in US, UK and in China, as required.
Learning Systems and Onboarding:
- Maintain the learning system while ensuring data accuracy and integrity
- Provides ongoing technical support for plant LMS Administrators
- Drives best practices related to user experience, data integrity, training records and training documentation for the LMS
- Generates and analyzes system usage activity, course evaluation, compliance and additional metrics on a regular basis, supporting individual business and both internal and external audit-related compliance reporting as needed;
- Creates and documents processes and manages systems for initiatives including: mentoring, learning, engagement and multi-rater assessments.
- Designs and creates tools, SharePoint sites and drafts communication materials for Talent and Learning programs.
- Partner with multiple stakeholders to improve and enhance our current onboarding process globally.
- Coordinate with recruitment team and other internal stakeholders on transitioning the from a candidate to a "new hire" and the onboarding steps associated with it
- Handle first day logistics including conducting orientations in multiple time zones and required documentation.
Here is what you'll need to succeed in this role:
- At least 3 years of experience either in a learning & development role or applicable or in a project management role with a strong focus on planning, organizing, and coordinating learning and development activities.
- Previous learning system administration.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills; able to manage priorities and workflow with minimal oversight, in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy; conscientious and thorough in own work product as well as ensuring compliance with standards.
- Positive interpersonal, influencing and collaboration skills; experience of working globally and collaboratively with stakeholders across functions, countries and cultures.
- Strong customer mindset; motivated to support internal customers and able to balance well between providing flexibility and maintaining requirements.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to thoughtfully structure key messages, information, and presentations for clarity and impact.
- Good presentation and facilitation skills to deliver onboarding training and additional training as needed.
- Strong analytical skills; comfortable with analyzing data and information.
- Ability to think logically; able to quickly grasp concepts, spot trends, see the bigger picture and make the complex simple.
- Solid proficiency with MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
- This role is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship. The successful candidatemust not now, or in the future, require sponsorship to work in the US.

Preferred experience:
- A bachelor's degree in human resources, business, psychology, or relevant field
- Experience coordinating and tracking onboarding and learning & development activities is highly desirable.
- Experience in improving learning design and learning user experience.
- Experience and expertise in using eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate
