How you will impact Ingevity:
In this role, you will be depended on for supporting the plant accounting and production teams in Charleston. You will be involved in all areas of production accounting, timekeeping, and accounts payable reconciliation. Assisting with monthly closings and account analysis and supporting the Plant Controller in carrying out the responsibilities of the accounting department. You will support and often lead financial analysis for special projects, product costing, annual planning, cost reporting and review of variance accounts. This is a hands on role for someone who works well with all levels of employees. You must be comfortable working collaboratively in a high-performance production culture and also adept at driving improvements within our existing systems and functions. - Continuous interaction with Operations personnel concerning the accuracy of production paperwork and problem resolution; daily process order confirmations, COGI error clearing, and raw material/activity reconciliation in SAP.
- This role will support and back-up all time keeping responsibilities, and work with supervision to ensure accuracy of time and rate of pay through our Kronos time keeping system.
- Daily, weekly, and monthly reporting and reconciliation of inventory. Assist with monthly physical count reconciliations and assist with off-site and rail car inventory.
- Support month-end closing processes to include SAP process order reconciliation, inventory reconciliation, analysis of variance accounts, and distribution of the month end reporting package for global facilities.
- Support and trouble account payable issues for the plant.
- Consistently look for opportunities for improvement in financial practices and devise & strongly participate to implement solutions.
What you need to succeed:
- An associate or undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting/Finance.
- A minimum of 3 years of financial analysis experience, in a manufacturing environment required.
- Work experience with a large company ERP, SAP preferred.
- Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) essential.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to quickly learn new programs and systems.
- Strong drive to analyze and deliver opportunities for improvement within business financial management systems.
- Exceptional ability to work well with all levels of employees.
