Principal Marketing Manager

Overview

Come join the TurboTax Go to Market (GTM) Portfolio and Brand team and create a new capability responsible for shaping and managing the holistic TurboTax GTM plan, facilitating accelerated decision-making. As the Principal GTM Portfolio Manager, you will play a critical role in the development and execution of a cohesive TurboTax Marketing plan, by influencing and coordinating strategy development across marketing and business teams, providing initiative prioritization guidance to team.  This role requires strong marketing strategy know how, deep program management experience and a desire to innovate and lead new processes for the Marketing team.  It’s an exciting opportunity for a motivated, inventive, and collaborative person who is inspired by leading change.  

What you'll bring

• 8+ year track record of setting clear strategic direction grounded in consumer, competitive and market insights with demonstrated principle-based decision-making experience.

• Strong program management skills experience developing and leading operational processes, facilitating resourcing decisions and providing strategic guidance.

• Solid understanding of the marketing craft, including strategy development and channel programs (advertising, social, display, email, SEO, SEM, TV/Radio).

• Strong program management skills with demonstrated track record of planning and managing complex programs, identifying dependencies, driving priority decisions, and gaining alignment from key stakeholders, including executive leaders.

• Thrives in a fast-paced matrixed environment, thinks, anticipates, and can pivot quickly, collaborating and influencing across the organization to drive outcomes.

• Exceptional attention to detail balanced with the skill to understand the big picture, connect strategies back to higher level goals and create recommendations.

• BA/BS required; MBA preferred.

How you will lead

• Shapes and manages the holistic TurboTax GTM plan by influencing and bringing together the strategies and initiatives from Business Strategy, Growth Priority and Marketing teams into one united plan and being accountable for plan delivery.  Is responsible simultaneously for the big picture and specific details, proactively identifying opportunities, dependencies, and gaps. 

• Leads the creation and management of new processes to establish an operating rhythm for marketing effort prioritization, enabling better and faster decision making, reducing churn, and improving speed to market, while embodying continuous improvement.  

• Provides guidance to Marketing Channel teams on where to focus time and resources based on business priorities.  Is the primary point of contact for incoming marketing requests, accountable for making principled and data driven prioritization recommendations, identifying trade-offs, gaining alignment from senior leaders where needed and cascading decisions to key stakeholders.

• Participates in quarterly planning activities to help with the prioritization of work for resourcing.

• Understands competitive strategy and tactics and in partnership with the Business Strategy and Marketing teams, suggests actions and coordinates across teams to facilitate program execution.
