ISO New England is looking for a Communications Specialist to join our dynamic and collaborative communications team. Reporting to the Communications Manager, the Communications Specialist will be our "generalist" working and learning in three areas of communications: content development, media relations, and social media. To be successful in this role, you will possess experience and enthusiasm for developing content suitable for different digital platforms (e.g., website, newsletter, social posts) on a broad range of topics and issues. How you will make an Impact Write features and content for ISO New England’s online platforms (website, newsletter, social media -- LinkedIn and Twitter) Develop and maintain social media outreach to highlight ISO New England’s content, data, and reports Support media relations activities, including routine media inquiries, draft press releases, and emergency communications Re-leverage content, data, and reports into new and relevant information products for digital platforms Learn and use web analytics for content development What we are looking for Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Journalism or relevant field Experience in corporate communications, public relations, journalism, and/or marketing preferred; will consider someone with less professional experience, but who is enthusiastic, curious, and willing to learn Strong writer, with a proven track record (through sample work) of storytelling ability Hands-on experience with Microsoft Office; Photoshop and InDesign knowledge a plusMust be highly organized; be able to work both collaboratively with a team, but also independently; and deadline oriented Desired not required Knowledge and interest in the energy field a plus Knowledge of website analytics (such as Google Analytics) Knowledge or interest in learning basic graphic design ISO New England oversees the 24/7 operation of the power grid that covers the six-states of New England and administers the region’s $10+ billion “stock exchange” for the buying and selling of wholesale electricity.
