Friday, February 25, 2022 ISO New England is currently working on new market designs that help to address the challenges caused by the transition to the clean energy future. We are looking for new talent to perform the much needed market simulation studies and develop and test market simulation software for the ISO New England market. This role is part of our Advanced Technology Solution team, known internally as our ‘think tank.” How you will make an impact: Test in-house developed market simulator Perform market and reliability studies and analyze results Support ATS and other departments using in-house developed market simulator Participate in software development, including architecture design and software implementation Prepare/Set up market simulation environment and perform market simulation analysis What we look for: Bachelor, Master or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Operations Research or Computer Science Knowledge/experience in software development (Java, Python, RDMS, GAMS, SAS…) Knowledge/experience with power system optimization techniques/models Understanding of electricity market operation, power system operations and analysis Working experience with commercial optimization solvers such as CPLEX and GUROBI is a plus Good communication and analytical skills Five years of experience is required for the Senior Analyst Desired not required Development experience in the electricity market simulation software is highly desirable.
