    Janssen Scientific Affairs, LLC, Center for Medical and Healthcare Excellence (CMHE), a member of the Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson, is looking for three (3) summer interns in the Titusville, NJ, Horsham, PA, or virtual location.

    Position #1: 2023 Learning Excellence Summer Intern – located in Titusville, NJ
    The Learning Excellence (LEx) team enables Janssen Scientific Affairs & Medical Affairs (JSAMA) trainers & training roles to develop the JSAMA workforce of the future by reducing barriers to Learning & Development (L&D) Excellence. This is accomplished by reducing the burden of repetitive and redundant tasks and activities for trainers, including Therapeutic Area-agnostic curriculum and content design and evaluation, delivery and metrics, and defining gaps, analyzing root causes, and measuring outcomes of interventions to enable trainers to close gaps between existing and desired performance for trainers through an integrated learning experience technology.

    Expectations/Responsibilities/Project Details: 
    The Summer Intern will provide support to the Learning Excellence team in the following ways:

    • Create learning strategies and employ instructional design skills to develop tools, templates, models, and frameworks
    • Write learning objectives based on needs assessment/input received
    • Design and Develop training content through various platforms from PowerPoint to pdf to video to eLearning
    • Identify and curate learning resources
    • Develop training communications, infographics, and other materials
    • Assist in managing projects
    • Identify best practices and trends in learning and development
    • Assist with other duties as assigned

    Successful candidates have an interest in the pharmaceutical industry as a potential career path.  They demonstrate intellectual curiosity and seek opportunities to leverage their growing knowledge around learning and development strategies and instructional design.  They have an interest in advancing their strong written and verbal communication skills and have a passion for educating others. They enjoy the creative process, applying a systematic approach, and leveraging instructional and motivational strategies in learning design.
     

    Expected hours : Position involves approximately 8 hours of work per day, Monday through Friday (a 40-hour work week) in Titusville, NJ.  
     

    Position #2: 2023 Patient Engagement Research Summer Intern– located virtually
    The Patient Engagement Research team works to inspire patient voice in research across medical and scientific affairs.  This internship will support the creation of a cross-therapeutic area virtual Patient Listening Lesson to expose a broad range of scientific and medical affairs colleagues to the importance of patient voice in research through our Patient Engagement Research Council (PERC) platform.  Key activities will include:   

    • Work with Janssen team and external vendor to further define objectives, shape a value- add agenda, and support selection of patient members to participate 
    • Work with moderators to prepare for two-way dialogue and ensure familiarity with virtual technology 
    • Create communications to build awareness for the program and pre / post meeting materials to support key learnings and establish best practices for future programs

    This role may also support other project management activities as needed, with a focus on data analytics (qualitative + quantitative) and communications.

    Each intern will be able to: 

    • Understand JSA and Medical Affairs organizations
    • Awareness to patient engagement strategies and capabilities at Janssen
    • Connect with therapeutic area partners across JSA and MAF to understand patient voice priorities 
    • Plan a 1-hour virtual event that engages all attendees 
    • Develop clear communications to support patient engagement across the organization

    Expected hours:  Position involves approximately 8 hours of work per day, Monday through Friday (a 40-hour work week) virtually.

    Position #3: 2023 Operational Excellence Summer Intern– located in Horsham, PA
    Operational Excellence is focused on efficient onboarding, streamlined processes, and knowledge sharing enabling JSA to perform as an agile and innovative organization. This summer intern candidate would have an interest in gaining Pharmaceutical industry experience, including project management, experience with IT systems, and designing project plans and training documents for the JSA department.

    • Assist with development of interdisciplinary job aids and training/guidance documents to be leveraged across the JSA organization
    • Identify process improvement and operational efficiencies in support of JSA-wide communications
    • Work across multiple project owners to collate and produce central repository of content relevant to JSA 
    • Organize central repository for checklists, resources, and content to support JSA employee onboarding

    Expected hours:  Position involves approximately 8 hours of work per day, Monday through Friday (a 40-hour work week) in Horsham, PA.
