    The Associate Director, Material Review, provides strategic leadership to the Material Review Team within the Medical Excellence function. They are responsible for multiple sub-teams and roles within the Materials Review Team to ensure compliance and alignment to the organizational strategy in the management of Janssen’s customer-facing promotional and non-promotional materials across various platforms and media.

    They are responsible for mentoring and developing team members as it relates to strategic and operational support of business objectives. They build and sustain organizational capabilities and process enhancements that are aligned with company goals.

    The Associate Director, Material Review, represents Janssen Canada across various strategic regional and global partnerships pertaining to material development processes, review systems and audits. They are proactive and accountable for communication of industry advertising guidelines, as well as agency vendor management.

    The Associate Director, Material Review, partners with leadership in Medical Sciences, Medical Education, Medical Information and Medical Excellence, as well Commercial, Regulatory, Communications and Market Access to implement customer facing strategies across Janssen Canada.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • In collaboration with Medical Affairs, Commercial, and Market Access partners ensure industry-leading and efficient development and management of customer-facing promotional and non-promotional materials across all media to deliver on Janssen Canada’s ASPIRE framework.
    • Establish departmental infrastructure and processes to support corporate cross-functional initiatives.
    • Lead and consult on strategic partnerships with internal stakeholders such as the Regulatory Affairs, Health Care Compliance, IT and Marketing Engagement Excellence.
    • Provide leadership to the Material Review team and build organizational capability by being familiar and updated with industry innovations in management of customer-facing materials and their use in customer engagements, in alignment to the broader Medical Affair’s Strategy and Vision.
    • Drive professional development of direct reports to lead and manage according to Credo values and workplace culture.
    • Collaborate with industry partners to provide industry perspective on emerging issues and identify mutually helpful solutions.
    • Collaborate with vendor partners to develop and measure critical metrics.
    • Provide leadership across Medical Excellence team through collaborations cross-functional projects and activities.
    • Experience in managing and explaining complex information in a way that establishes relationships and gains understanding and alignment.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of key regulations, policies and industry codes applicable to healthcare compliance for pharmaceutical companies in Canada.
