    Janssen Pulmonary Hypertension is a leader in the field of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). Our portfolio of PAH treatments covers the spectrum of disease, from WHO Functional Class (FC) II through to FC IV, with oral, inhaled and intravenous medications.

    The Associate Director will work closely with the Director of External Engagement Strategy, medical affairs strategy team, field medical and cross functional partners to ensure strategic alignment in providing a One Janssen approach that is visible to external customers. The incumbent will require a strong knowledge of the PH external stakeholder landscape, strategy development and execution, deep knowledge of MAF value proposition, and to develop and implement systems that will transform Janssen PH MAF as leaders in this TA.  They will continuously adjust the execution tactics to ensure optimal performance impact in a rapidly changing external environment.

    Strategic medical external engagement is a core capability of medical affairs.  The Pulmonary Hypertension stakeholders who need scientific information for decision making are unique in this rare disease arena.  In collaboration with the Director of Medical Affairs External Engagement Strategy, the Associate Director will be responsible for development and execution of an operating model to optimize scientific exchange of the in house and field medical affairs organization.  In this role, the associate director will identify and segment the external stakeholders for optimal medical engagement with external stakeholders.  Key responsibilities include but are not limited to

    • Support the establishment and maintenance of a prioritized list of external customers/sites based on the evolving JPH landscape
    • Develop the identification of stakeholders for medical initiatives (e.g. advisory boards) and engagements and collaborate in the development of execution plans
    • Develop deep understanding of internal strategies and external stakeholder needs, including insights management
    • Create effective ongoing partnerships with medical affairs, scientific affairs, and cross-functional partners
    • Support the ongoing strategic planning and assessment/improvement of external customer engagements at sites and major scientific meetings including memorialized sequential learnings that continually improve customer engagements
    • Develop innovative strategies for stakeholder interactions that results in mutually beneficial relationships through medical insights, advisory boards and other customer engagement meetings
    • Successfully operate in a matrix environment that provides value to multiple internal stakeholders
    • Responsible for ensuring that activities are compliant with regulatory and HCC policies and processes
    • Supports activities that translate to timely and positive interactions with external partners and organizations
    • Leverage tools and analytics to understand the PH landscape, engagement activities, inform future decisions, and accelerate execution
