Position Overview The Associate Director (AD), Medical Education Strategy and Execution Oncology, provides leadership to the National Oncology Medical Education Manager team, and they are responsible for the National Med Ed content strategy across the Oncology portfolios. The AD leads all aspects of the Med Ed strategic planning process, ensuring strengthening needs assessment development, concept, and content development, to ensure achievement of the vision of the department. They are responsible for identifying cross-therapy area alignments and opportunities in end to end workflow management. They will build and sustain the Medical Education strategy across the Oncology portfolios. They will ensure educational activities are aligned with laws, regulations, policy, and Corporate Compliance objectives. The AD, Medical Education Strategy and Execution, will partner closely with the Associate Directors in the Medical Education Department, as well as the Manager of Operations, to ensure alignment to digital and content strategy to advance capabilities and compliant offerings. The AD is also responsible for the management and professional development of a team of national managers. They are proactive and accountable for the development and execution of medical education content, finds opportunities for continuous improvement and provides monthly metrics to the Director of Medical Education. Core Responsibilities: Business and People Leadership Strengthen the Medical Education Strategic Planning Process by understanding the gaps and opportunities to develop and lead compliant and detailed medical education strategy across the department Lead and supervise the national managers in the development of the national med ed strategy Clearly articulate value of the team (short/mid/long term goals) Represents the needs of business stakeholders by partnering with the Director, to advance the innovation of the department Able to identify interdependencies across business processes & initiatives Liaise with Associate Directors and Operations manager to ensure to support seamless development and execution of educational strategic plans Educational Subject Matter Expert Core Responsibilities: Business and People Leadership Understands the needs of the education functional area and underlying business processes and opportunities Understands the latest educational strategies and innovations to advance all asset strategy Manage the professional development of the National medical education team Able to articulate business value, defines success measures / critical metrics, supervise continuous improvement based on KPIs Enlist SMEs from specific therapy areas to define the capabilities required to deliver the desired value content asset Business Readiness Supports and strengthens the educational needs assessment process for every asset Support team by providing mentorship on strategic plans and coordinating executional excellence Operational Leadership Provides executional leadership to team of national managers Oversee the national manager lead educational budget Decision Maker Final decision maker for cross-TA Med Ed alignment and activities Communicator and trend identification Acts as a voice of NMEM groups’ needs within the products Able to clearly articulate priorities to team members and to set expectations Qualifications Qualifications A minimum of a master's degree is required, preferably in medical or related health sciences subject area; a science degree is preferred A minimum of 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, or medical education field is required Excellence and experience in people management skills is required Experience in Oncology is required Strong communication and collaboration skill set with ability to showcase leadership of cross-functional project team members Understanding of agile ways of working Results driven, innovative, assertive, strategic problem solver, strong project and account leadership skills are preferred Demonstrated experience of change management and adoption Knowledge of pharmaceutical regulated standards (IMC Code of Ethical Practices, ICH GCP, cGMPs, or Pharmacovigiliance standards) and experience working with Health Care Compliance functions. Strong written, verbal and presentation skills Proficiency in metrics and reporting, creating dashboards and scorecards, and communicating sophisticated information at the right tone and breadth Experience in continuous improvement and or quality improvement processes Strong analytical, time leadership, organization and prioritization skills Knowledge of the medical education area is required Ability to make decisions specific to business requirements Diversity and inclusion are central elements of the shared culture across the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies.
