    Position summary

    Associate Director, Pharmacy Excellence and Innovation

    Janssen is recruiting for a Associate Director, Pharmacy Excellence & Innovation Marketing to be located in Titusville, NJ.

    Janssen is committed to raising the bar on patient experience (Px), building a new center of excellence – the Patient Engagement and Customer Solutions (PECS) organization – that will create more personalized, seamless, and supportive experiences for patients starting treatments across the Janssen portfolio.

    The Associate Director, Pharmacy Excellence & Innovation will contribute to a team focused on building and refining Janssen’s overall pharmacy capability. This includes identification of capabilities, partners, technologies, and innovative programming approaches that allow Janssen to become best-in-class in supporting patient through the specialty and retail pharmacy channels. You will monitor industry trends, emerging pharmacy models, and evolving data sources and contribute to pharmacy network design for new product launches. In addition, you will work closely with the Pharmacy Channel Solutions Marketing teams and the Pharmacy Account Management team to engage specialty and retail pharmacies in partnerships, fee for service strategies, and data and technology agreements that support the needs of patients starting, or continuing on Janssen therapies.

    The position reports to the Director, Pharmacy Excellence & Innovation.

    A Day in the Life

    Every patient’s healthcare experience is unique – shaped by personal experiences and beliefs, the presence or absence of support networks, provider and payer dynamics, and socioeconomic factors. For many patients, the decision to start or stop a treatment is overwhelming. Janssen recognizes this, and wants to create an experience that is personalized, helpful, and hopeful.

    The Associate Director, Pharmacy Excellence & Innovation contributes to a team in service to our patients. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

    • Pharmacy Strategy, Innovation & Design:  Collaborate to refine Janssen’s overall pharmacy capability and strategy; Use market assessments, competitive landscapes, voice of patient and customer, and industry trends including policy and business models to inform recommendations for capability design. Monitor emerging channels and innovation in the industry to inform proactive changes to existing programs and new launch network design.
    • Data & Analytics:  Evolve data sources and analytics approaches to uncover new insights about the patient journey and experience on Janssen brands; Monitor KPIs that reflect patient needs and brand strategies; Present performance summaries and strategic recommendations to Px therapeutic area teams
    • Px Requirements:  Monitor overall effectiveness of the pharmacy solutions against Px program requirements that align to patient needs and brand objectives; Contribute to capabilities discussions, RFP process, and contracting in coordination with account management and PECS operations teams
    • Operational Excellence:  Use patient analytics, voice of customer, and benchmarking to lead continuous optimization of pharmacy services across the Janssen portfolio. Address interdependencies with other solutions areas including Janssen Patient Access and Affordability Solutions, and Patient and Caregiver Solutions to ensure pharmacy services optimization. Proactively share learnings and best practices within the Pharmacy Solutions team and across Janssen therapeutic areas.
    • Account Engagement:   Partner with national account teams to identify strategic partners to address gaps in patient experience. Influence priorities of account team to align with overall pharmacy strategy. Participate in quarterly business reviews both internally and with pharmacies aligned by therapeutic area.
    • Budgeting:  Provide estimates for financial resources to support pharmacy Px strategy; Proactively monitor and manage spend
    • Teaming:  Lead cross-functional business partners in a complex, matrixed environment
    • Culture:  Foster to a culture of learning, smart risk-taking and experimentation within team and through supplier partners
