Apply now for this exciting opportunity! Ensure compliance to all environmental product compliance (EPC) regulatory requirements by developing and refining EPC processes within the CSS business. Lead the completion of emerging issues reviews and impact assessments per stated timelines and execute on the relevant communication process to customers and business partners. Evaluate EPC aspects of new products and packaging materials using the R&D new product development (NPD) design stage gate processes. Collaborate with R&D teams, Regulatory, Quality, External Manufacturing, Marketing and Supplier Management and other key stakeholders as needed. Assess/evaluate composition of existing materials and products. Support Commercial teams by partnering with other business groups to complete Environmental Preferable Purchasing (EPP) data requests within the requested timeframe. Maintain & demonstrate academic and J&J expertise in the area of EPC requirements. Partner with the Enterprise Sustainability Team on initiatives requiring collaboration. Support the overall J&J Medical Devices Environmental Product Compliance organization as needed, including the participation in annual and periodic EPC assessments/audits, as well as leading the execution of assigned action items. Provide education & training on vital EPC topics. Qualifications Qualifications A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required. A Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Life Sciences, Environmental Science or Engineering is preferred. A minimum of at-least six (6) years of experience in a regulated industry is required. Experience working in the medical devices industry is preferred. Experience in Product Stewardship (Environmental Product Compliance) is required. Must have knowledge and experience in implementing programs such as, but not limited to: EU/China/UAE ROHS, EU/China REACh, WEEE, Battery, Packaging/Packaging Waste, EU Waste Framework Directive, EU MDR Restricted Substances, CA Prop 65 and TSCA. Experience working in a matrix environment directing project teams is required. Computer knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, and PowerPoint) is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required. Experience working in a virtual environment using virtual meeting tools (Microsoft Teams/Zoom) is required. In addition to the above, this position may require up to 10% travel, both domestic and/or international. Standard hours are 8:00 am-5:00 pm, but may require off-shift hours, including weekends, as needed by the business and for site-related emergencies.
