    Overall purpose of job:

    • The Scientific Advisor role is a member of Medical Affairs Department and play a major role in providing expert
    scientific advice on branding and strategic development within assigned therapeutic areas
    • Individual in this position facilitate pipeline product introduction and on-market product access by developing
    scientific relationships with external stakeholders and collaborating with all internal stakeholders to develop and
    implement the overall medical strategy in alignment with therapeutic brand strategy as well as company strategy
    • Scientific Advisor is responsible for the implementation of all related medical affairs activities including KOL
    development, scientific communication, medical education, data generation, pre-approval access, unsolicited
    medical information, review and approval of promotional materials and internal training

    Essential duties and responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement Medical Affairs Strategy for the therapeutic Area or individual
    • product
    • Provides “expert medical advice/ insights” into overall launch and product strategy to crossfunctional team during new indication or product launch
    • Working closely with local colleagues from marketing, IMAT, regulatory affairs colleagues during local business planning and strategic planning. Has overall ownership for the medical affairs component of a brand plan
    • Medical Affairs strategy are aligned with the brand and company strategy and executed on time with well budget management
    • Ensure medical leadership during cross-functional meetings
    • Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with external stakeholders and to identify relevant KOLs for the contribution of medical activities
    • Develop and implement KOL development plan
    • Maintain a high level of expertise and up-to-date knowledge about the therapeutic area, treatment guidelines or competitors landscape
    • Highly detailed knowledge of our products and how they “fit” into the therapeutic area.
    • Be seen as the local therapeutic area/ product expert at a peer level with HCPs
    • Gain valuable insights through in-depth scientific data discussion and interactions with HCPs on pre-launch and marketed products
    • Pre- and Post-conference preparation and presentation of scientific data to internal or external stakeholders
    • Identification of local education needs of external stakeholders
    • Build medical education partnership with HCPs or medical society
    • To provide speakers with scientific information on company areas of interest or research programs
    • Development of data generation program/ activities to address local data gaps to achieve better patient outcomes and aligned overall brand strategy
    • May interact with investigators who initiate requests for support of clinical studies that they design and will conduct in compliance with applicable company policy
    • Support execution of company-sponsored clinical studies responsible by Global Clinical
      Operation (GCO)
    • Manage the communication and logistics of pre-approval access program with internal and external stakeholders
    • Provide medical information upon request to HCPs within the approved or off-label indications with well documentation
    • Contributes to the development of promotional materials by providing medical insight to marketing colleagues
    • Review and approval of promotional materials according to local laws, code of practice and company SOP compliance
    • Work with marketing and sale manager to develop sales training plan ahead of product launch, line extension and throughout a product’s lifecycle
    • Conduct disease or product training to internal staff as/ when required
    • Ensure 100% completion of company SOP and compulsory training
    • Ensure all medical activities are conducted within the company compliance principles

    Special requirements:

    • Demonstrate ability to continue an update of medical and scientific knowledge
    • Interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with a board range of audience (scientific experts and/or company personnel)
    • Advanced presentation skills and business acumen

    Other features of the job:

    • Be able to travel to overseas meeting/ congress and work over weekend if/ when necessary

    Job Requirements

    Essential knowledge and skills:

    • Qualification: Pharm, MD, PhD and/ or Master Degree in science or equivalent
    • Prefer at least 2 years working experience in pharmaceutical industry or research company (over 4 years of experience may consider as Senior level and without any experience may consider as Associate level)
    • Background should include a strong record of deep knowledge of the therapeutic area, strength in research and interpretation of medical data
    • Experience with scientific acumen and communication skills in order to be accepted by leading specialists in peer-to-peer relationship
    • Experience with complex business environment preferred
    • Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Cantonese
