Associate Scientist

The In Vitro Associate Scientist will join the discovery team to develop cutting-edge small molecules, biologics and cell therapies for the treatment of cancer with specific focus on haematological malignancies. You will be responsible for contributing to in vitro studies for multiple research programs across the different stages of pre-clinical drug discovery. The responsibilities include the design, execution and interpretation of in vitro experiments for the validation and characterization of targets or therapeutic agents in the area of tumor biology and tumor immunology. Specifically, you will contribute to screening activities, target validation and mechanism of action work. Previous experience with cell culture and basic cell/molecular biology is required. Previous experience with cell culture of immune cells, production of replication-incompetent lentivirus and flow cytometry analysis is a plus. Responsibilities include design and execution of experiments and critical analysis of data. Troubleshooting skills are essential. You will manage multiple in vitro experiments simultaneously, as well as actively work in a team environment. You will demonstrate the ability to contribute to various projects outside of personal scope and collaborate with stakeholders from all relevant functions. You will demonstrate clear and professional verbal and written communication (in English). We are looking for a candidate, who will be strongly motivated and dedicated, will show initiative and work independently. Experience in drug discovery / pharmacology and/or knowledge of the oncology field, in particular hematologic malignancies, and/or immuno-oncology, is a plus. Location is Beerse, Belgium. Contract is for a limited period of time - 1 year.
