Johnson & Johnson Consumer, a member of the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies, is currently seeking a Director, Advanced Analytics for CBI (Consumer Business Intelligence) with Asia Pacific region coverage. We are looking for a strategic thinker and analytics expert to partner with local and regional business leaders and external partners to solve business questions through application of advanced analytics and digital solutions. This is an Advanced Analytics role with a focus on proactively identifying business opportunities, developing analytical framework and algorithm, conducting advanced data analytics directly or with external parties, and nurturing advanced analytics team and competency in the organization. He/she will also be working closely with technology team and provide advise on data strategy and requirements. This person based in Singapore will serve as an internal consultant to partner closely with market, brand or franchise leadership and cross functional partners in our businesses spanning across consumer products, beauty, and self-care categories. This position plays a leading role in advising and counseling management in the development and evaluation of new and existing business strategies and tactics and as a result, shares accountability for business results. This person will report to the Asia-Pacific head of Consumer and Business Intelligence (CBI). Responsibilities Understand the competitive marketplace and data challenges in the markets in order to identify region level business opportunities Propose agile experiments leveraging data Lead the advanced analytics practice for the Asia Pacific region to solve identified business issues or opportunities to drive company growth. Design overall data science strategy for the Asia Pacific region Evaluate structured and unstructured data set Recommend analytical frameworks (statistical approaches) Supervise and/or develop complex and creative algorithms (e.g consumer segmentation, predictive/prescriptive models, etc) applying machine learning where applicable Collaborate with external, global, other regions to improve analytics function in APAC Monitor and upgrade models (test data mining/analytical model efficacy) Scan latest technology, techniques, and methods Build and manage external partner eco-system Translate advanced business analytics problems into technical approaches that yield actionable recommendations, in diverse domains Recommend process automations Propose change in how organization approaches business Advise or support in data strategy formulation and dashboard creation for insight sharing Recruit, train, and lead data science and advanced analytics team in various geographic locations Communicate findings/results and make business recommendations to senior leadership team Expected global travel: 10-20% (dependent on company travel guidelines and policies) Qualifications Qualities / Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field (e.g. economics, statistics, data science, engineering, computer science, etc.) with preference on PhD/graduate degree Deep knowledge of advanced statistics and proficiency with developing data science and machine learning models (i.e. Propensity Modeling, Random Forest, k-mean clustering etc.) Awareness of intermediate level artificial intelligence methods and techniques. Proficiency in Python/R, with knowledge of database query and data manipulation languages such as SQL, HQL and SPSS Confident in dealing with large data sets, and data mining and data preparation methods Data visualization skills and knowledge of associated products such as Tableau is a plus Strong communication skills, as well as written and verbal presentation skills in English and Mandarin Experience Minimum 10 years of work experience with at least 5 years in a data analytics role with high levels of exposure to machine learning and artificial intelligence systems Work experience in consumer product, beauty, self-care, or retail is desirable People & team management experience Experience in communicating data insights to large matrix organizations, across geographies.
