Position Summary: The Capability Manager serves as the primary liaison between the Janssen R&D Project Management Organization (PMO), as well as the broader Global Development (GD) Organization and Information Technology (IT). The Capability Manager plays a critical role in implementing and continually advancing Global Development processes, business rules and tools that enable high quality project management and team collaboration. Principal Responsibilities: Serves as system owner for planning and forecasting tools Leads the identification and implementation of continuous improvements and innovative solutions that optimize processes and tools via close collaboration with GD customers and IT Maintain a customer mindset to ensure solutions are relevant and beneficial to the end-user; define and measure customer satisfaction and value. Partners with IT to ensure robust system change control strategies that adhere to best practices and that mitigate regression issues Ensures appropriate project management processes are applied to IT projects including development of business cases, project charters, project plans, financial plans, user stories, testing, and training Provides appropriate change management and communication to ensure process and tool adoption Provides formal and informal process and system training / coaching to end users; maintains robust business documentation and training material. Prepare and manage financial plans and budgets Fosters knowledge retention and lessons learned across GD and IT Troubleshoots system and user issues Principal Relationships: Primary Reporting Structure: EBIS-COS Capability Director or Associate Director Primary interfaces: Project Management Organization including R&D Planning, Cross-TA Planning, Resource Optimization and R&D Analytics, GCO, MAO, IDAR, QS, and other Global Development functions Other Internal Interfaces: Information Technology Functions including Business Unit Information Technology, Finance External Interfaces: Software vendor change control boards Qualifications Education and Experience Requirements: A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or University Related Degree, is required. A minimum of 5 years’ experience with identifying, prioritizing, and implementing system enhancements. Experience implementing and/or supporting Enterprise wide process and technology projects. Ability to translate the use of technology to create business value and drive business efficiencies. Experience with various project management and software development lifecycle methodologies, such as AGILE, Scrum, FPX, and Waterfall. A motivated leader with a strong sense of accountability and dedication to excellence, balancing responsiveness to diverse requests for diverse stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to be creative and flexible to change/improve the working environment. Proven record of collaboratively leading global teams across functional boundaries. Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and influence teams without formal authority. Excellent analytical, problem solving, communication and presentation skills. A minimum of 2 years of Pharmaceutical Industry experience, is preferred. Proficiency in Office 365 tools including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, and SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams.
