    Johnson & Johnson is currently recruiting for a  Director, Experience Design (XD)  for the J&J Technology organization (JJT) to be located in New York, NY or New Brunswick, NJ.

Reporting to the Sr. Director of Experience Design, the Director will design, lead, and inspire squads to craft human-centered digital experiences that meet users’ needs. This strong digital leader will collaboratively partner with product teams to achieve identified objectives, keep informed on industry trends, and identify UX opportunities and methodologies. This individual should be naturally curious, have a passion for human-centered design, be a creative problem solver, be comfortable with ambiguity, and embrace an agile culture. The leader will also help to design artifact creation and demonstrate the use of design research methodologies.

    Responsibilities:

    • Operate as a strategic leader to drive the Experience Design strategy and roadmaps for a sector living into the JJT High-Performing Teams Operating Model
    • Lead and accelerate the growth and impact of Experience Design within a sector ensuring that products and services are design-led and people-centric
    • Proactively work with partners to frame the business problem and use the principles of design thinking to build strategies through a process of continuous product discovery inclusive of user research, prototyping and outcome measurement
    • Lead a multi-faceted team of T-shaped XD practitioners to build design artifacts: personas, current and future state journeys, service blueprints, prototypes, etc.
    • Attract, hire, and retain superior design talent to ensure squads have the skilled expertise needed to deliver on the JJT People-centricity pillar
    • Work with DesignOps and the Sr. Director of Experience Design to identify and manage staffing and resourcing to support flexible capacity scaling to meet demand
    • Present, advocate, and evolve the vision and strategy for the sector by measuring and reporting the outcomes and impact of design
    • Evolve, conceptualize and communicate new insights using storytelling techniques
    • Guide, mentor, and support designers to develop their craft and career growth
    • Collaborate closely with the Sr. Director to build business cases for investments in XD
    • Provide leadership around UX standard methodologies and the creation of seamless web and mobile applications and services that form the primary touch points for our users (patients, health care practitioners, employees, etc)
