The Field Service Engineer (FSE) provides frontline support by resolving customer’s problems and issues related to assigned products through technical expertise and troubleshooting. Assigned products currently include Monarch and NeuWave medical systems. The FSE is a field-based, customer-facing role that installs, services, maintains and modifies medical devices and robotic systems at our customer sites, primarily in the clinical environment. The FSE uses critical thinking to resolve issues within defined procedures and practices to identify appropriate action to rapidly repair equipment. Many FSEs operate independently within their geographic territory, however Ethicon offers a team-based environment with opportunities to benchmark, mentor and receive expert technical support. FSEs are home-based and required to travel mostly within their region to support customers using their technical expertise. Job Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Perform service, preventative maintenance, modifications and installations on Ethicon medical device products at customer sites with minimal direction Provide on-site customer repairs; responsible for delivering both timely and effective repairs Provide adequate training of operators to ensure optimal system performance, resulting in superior customer satisfaction Work closely and collaboratively with fellow Ethicon field team members, including Sales, Marketing, and Training to ensure customer success Perform necessary administrative duties accurately Keeps accurate records of service calls, maintains inventory of service parts, tools, and test equipment Job will generally be performed on customer site, typically at a Hospital or Medical Institution. Customer site may have exposure to hazardous materials, waste, airborne particles and allergens. Days and hours of work are flexible Monday through Friday, generally 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Qualifications Required: A minimum of Vocational, Certificate, Technical or Associates degree. A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a service environment working with customers to resolve problems related to capital equipment including surgical robotic equipment or related medical diagnostic equipment Self-starter with strong customer service skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills Demonstrate excellent judgment in customer relations and in handling company resources Hold a current valid driver’s license and good driving record over last three years Willing to work different shifts as business needs dictate Ability to work in the field a minimum of 50% with frequent overnight travel and provide service in assigned geography Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation after training and certification is completed.
