As a Software intern you will be working with the GUI team, helping to develop the GUIs for a surgical robotics system. These are the screens that empower the clinical staff to safely and effectively interact with the Auris robotic system. You will be interacting closely with Human Factors, User Experience, Clinical, and System Engineering to test and develop clinical and user requirements. We are looking for a highly motivated candidate who is interested in revolutionizing the world of medical robotics.
Core Job Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software.
Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables.
Collaborate closely with designers, researchers, clinicians, product managers and a large, passionate group of peers to shape simple, effective user experiences and mold the future of design.
Participate in regular code reviews.
Qualifications
Pursuing a BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
Solid programming skills in C/C++.
Solid understanding of modular GUI development in Qt (or equivalent tools).
Experience with front end technologies and/or front end frameworks.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation and collaboration skills.
Desired Experience
Familiarity with the entire software stack.
Experience with working in a Linux environment.
Familiarity with software development tools (git, Jenkins, various IDE's).
Attuned to the fundamentals of user experience.
Self-motivated and able to prioritize and manage workload and meet critical project milestones and deadlines.
Medical device development experience.
Experience with prototyping.
The anticipated base pay for this position for candidates in a Robotics discipline is Sophomore $31.00/hr, Junior $34.50/hr, Senior $38.00/hr, Masters $45.00/hr, PhD $59.00/hr.
The anticipated base pay for this position for candidates in other Engineering disciplines (not Robotics) is Sophomore $28.50/hr, Junior $30.00/hr, Senior $32.00/hr, Masters $38.00/hr, PhD $42.50/hr.
This position is ineligible for severance.
