    Position summary

    Janssen Pharmaceuticals, a company of Johnson & Johnson, is recruiting for a Global Head Partnership Accountability o be based in New Jersey,  Pennsylvania in the United States or Beerse, Belgium.

    The Global Head Partnership Accountability is the single point of accountability in Global Development for the development and implementation of a strategy to identify and realize process and financial efficiencies across Janssen Research & Development’s multi-million dollar business partnerships and outsourcing activities. This includes Contract Research Organizations (CRO), Central/Special Laboratories, Investigator Sites and other R&D related service categories with an annual spend in excess of $1B.

    This role will partner with Janssen Research & Development Procurement, Finance and other cross functional leaders to develop and execute a clinical partnership budget accountability strategy. This includes ensuring execution of related category contracts and business process oversight. Key areas of accountability include the following:

    Principal Responsibilities:

    Development and oversight of Partnership Accountability key performance indicators (KPIs) and strategy, included in this strategy would include components such as; partner budget forecasting, partner resource management, and validation of services performed

    • Establishment of partner budget standards related to clinical trial deliverables, functional requirements, and category sourcing strategy.

    • Oversight of partner budget(s) in coordination with procurement and operational/functional teams.

    • Development, implementation and participation in operations and commercial governance frameworks and approaches including oversight, service level expectations/adjudication and escalation pathways.

    • Responsible for partner budget forecasting including actual services completed, remaining budget and potential scope changes. Coordinate with internal functions to address partner actuals and forecasting as necessary.

    • Long-term strategic planning, including partnership optimization and continuous improvement/change management.

    • Providing guidance and ensuring alignment with J&J policies and standards related to business partners, including applicable clinical operations practices.

    • Serve as a point of escalation for commercial and business operations issue resolution and mitigation.

    The Global Head Partnership Accountability will be responsible for fostering a collaborative culture and will work with a large number of internal and external stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes. The person in this role will serve as a visible and effective change agent for global initiatives and will seek to provide strategic decision-making for all areas of responsibility while nurturing the ideas of others.

    The Global Head Partnership Accountability will be a member of the Project, Resourcing & Partnerships (PRP) leadership team. As a member of the PRP Leadership team, the incumbent will be responsible for the review and approval of Partnership Accountability strategies incusive of as well as be a primary contributor to issue identification, review and resolution processes. The role will serve as a global champion and leader for staff change management and engagement strategy, continuous improvement projects that promote individual development, team development, development of institutional knowledge and best practices for leveraging the entire Partnerships team in an optimal manner. This role will also partner closely with the Head, CRO Partnerships and Head, Clinical Partnerships to ensure a well-maintained governance and oversight framework is in place and be champions for the partnerships. This role will also partner closely with the Head, Planning Resource Optimization to ensure global resource planning is inclusive of partnership needs and trends.

    This role will directly and indirectly (through matrix relationships) lead a team of operational professionals providing leadership, mentorship, and career development opportunities for the global team members.

    The Global Head Partnership Accountability will have a desire for learning, innovation, and continued career development through participation in scientific & operational meetings. Increased visibility for self, Janssen R&D, and J&J through participation in external organizations focused on operational best practices.
