The Summer Research Internship is offered by the Immunology Division, Translational Science (TS) Department. Translational Science and Medicine (TSM) is a collective composed of a clinical Translational Medicine (TM) team and a Translational Sciences (TS) team. TS leverages human-based data and innovative biomarker strategies to support portfolio programs from end to end. In collaboration with TM, TSM serves as a pivotal link between Discovery Research and the later phase Clinical Development group. The TSM group provides vital scientific and clinical expertise to advance an industry-leading pipeline of novel mechanism small molecules and biologic agents to address unmet need in immune-mediated diseases.
Key Responsibilities:
All responsibilities will be performed under guided supervision to ensure a lucrative learning experience.
• Conduct mentored research to formalize and coordinate past/current TS biomarker clinical strategies.
• Learn and demonstrate ability to use cell culture techniques including cell isolation, T cell activation, and immunophenotyping; prior experience is helpful.
• Learn and demonstrate ability to execute experiments using Flow Cytometry, ELISAs and other related techniques in support of TS biomarker strategies.
• Present progressive project results at internal meetings.
• Present final project outcome(s) to the larger, TS team.
