otics R&D, you will be a part of our team and support our engineers in developing the next generation of orthopedic/surgical robotics and navigation systems. Tasks include but are not limited to:
Support numerous work activities as part of the development process of new medical devices.
Build concepts for medical devices and test setups.
Design prototypes and coordinate manufacturing in the prototype shop.
Coordinate and support mechanical tests
Develop layouts and tolerance studies, participate in performing design evaluations (such as FEA, simulated use testing, dry labs and wet tissue labs etc.)
Write technical & scientific reports.
Present your results to your colleagues.
Qualifications
On-going university degree with Mechanical, Electrical or Biomedical Engineering background
Or more specific: Engineering student (FH, ETH, min. 2 years of study) with mechanical engineering / electrical engineering / biomedical engineering expertise.
Qualifications - Skills:
Interest in the areas of product development and medical devices
Fluent in English and German
Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a matrix organization and participate effectively both independently and as part of multiple teams
Capacity to work under strict timelines
Skills design, mechanical testing and validation
Basic CAD skills (preferably NX or Solidworks)
Basic anatomical & biomechanical understanding
Basic statistical knowledge
Basic programming experience in MATLAB and/or Python is beneficial
Comfortable with reading and reviewing technical documents and drawings
