The IT Manager, Product Owner for Antibody and Protein Discovery, will provide technology and organizational leadership, drive programs, assess technologies, and deliver first class IT solutions to enable and accelerate end to end Antibody and Protein Discovery. Working with technical implementation teams across the organization, the Technology Product Manager will contribute to the ambitious digital transformation of Janssen’s Discovery Engine. The Product Owner for Antibody and Protein Discovery Will: Strategically partner with discovery scientists to understand business processes and translate scientific needs to informatics solutions Evaluate and communicate the strengths and weaknesses of business processes Drive and champion solution strategies that are agile, forward looking, and conducive to FAIR principles Collaborate with Product Engineers, technical delivery teams, and external vendors to deliver, improve, and manage the life cycle of the antibody/protein discovery IT systems ensure effective communications with the scientific user community and their management Inspire end users to leverage technology for innovation and productivity This role will require education, experience and expertise in drug discovery and associated ways of working on a global scale, including project management, portfolio management, analytics, system development, and system integration. Duties & Responsibilities: Be the strategic partner of antibody and protein discovery scientists, computational and data scientists, Establish and drive the product strategic directions for antibody and protein discovery Ensure the product keep pace with scientific advancements in all phases of discovery including screening, hit generation, lead selection, lead optimization and characterization, and candidate selection Benefit from an enterprise-wide master data management platform and strategy Ensure system data supports immediate decision making as well as future AI/ML interventions Ensure seamless integrations among the eco systems to provide desirable user experience Manage related software and platform ecosystem and strategy Explore new partners, technology services and scientific approaches in external collaborations Manage relationships with the scientific users and their leadership and ensure the product evolve and progress with or ahead of scientific advancements Manage external relationships with key vendors when necessary. Staff and personnel management Collaborate with other product owners to ensure the consistency and harmonization across products Inform and partner with platform owners of relevance Complete understanding and experience working within and leading an Agile development team. Manage within the framework of established policies and procedures Understand core internal IT products and participate in broader research and laboratory system strategy setting Assist in hiring decisions when necessary Contribute to the diversity and inclusion goals and objectives Qualifications Required Qualifications: Minimum of a MS or PhD degree in Life Sciences is required Minimum of 8 years of combined experience in R&D and informatics solutions is required In-depth scientific knowledge in antibody and protein discovery is required Working knowledge of broader drug discovery and laboratory science is required Deep knowledge in scientific computing and data science is required Ability to translate business requirements to technology solutions is required Strong communications and presentation skills are required Ability to lead and influence decisions in a matrix environment is required A proven track record of IT project delivery and business relationship management is required A minimum of 3-year experience with large molecule data management solutions is required Preferred Qualifications: A Ph.D. degree in the above areas is highly preferable Technical expertise and knowledge in structured and unstructured data management solutions is highly desirable Experience with large molecule lineage tracking software/solutions is highly preferred Technical expertise and knowledge in R&D experimental execution systems is preferred At Johnson & Johnson, we’re on a mission to change the trajectory of health for humanity.
