    Position summary

    RESPONSIBILITIES/PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

    The Head of Japan Community Impact, Johnson & Johnson Japan is responsible for leading the cross-sector Johnson & Johnson efforts to bring our Credo to life in Japan through supporting and investing in our local community to forge a healthier and more equitable future for those we serve. The role leads a small 2-person team of direct reports and leads a larger cross-functional volunteer Leadership Team to – aligned with our global strategy – drive programming for our community giving, social impact and other philanthropic initiatives. Supporting our community is at the core of who we are and thousands of our employees in Japan passionately volunteer at various NPOs every year. The role also partners closely with our Communication & Public Affairs team to share the stories of our partnerships, investment and engagement in Japan – serving as the key voice on these topics extern

    The role will;

    • Develop and lead the creation and execution of our community investment and volunteering strategy in Japan aligned with global priorities to maximize impact
    • Lead the Japan Community Impact (JCI) Leadership Team (LT) to develop and deploy the overarching strategy for our efforts
    • Partner closely with our Japan Presidents’ Council to ensure support and alignment for the strategy
    • Manage critical long-term relationships with our Japanese NPO partners and forge new partnerships for the future
    • Ensure our approach is at the leading edge of corporate community impact efforts through benchmarking and industry insight gathering
    • Bring to life in Japan our global priorities to improve health equity, strengthen sustainable healthcare systems and support local healthcare workforces
    • Be an actively engaged member of Japan’s corporate philanthropy sector
    • Lead efforts to demonstrate J&J’s leadership in CSR and sustainability in Japan (in partnership with Communication & Public Affairs)
    • Build and maintain a robust measurement and analytics system to ensure our efforts are making a true difference in our communities
    • Represent Japan on regional and global Johnson & Johnson Community Impact Teams
    • Lead our Japan Community Impact team to engage and inspire our employees through volunteering and NPO support initiatives
    • Lead our volunteer leaders responsible for driving J&J Japan’s extensive volunteering programs
    • Inspire our employees to live out Our Credo and increase participation in our volunteer efforts
    • Identify news ways to drive skills-based volunteering efforts
    • Support global volunteering and pro-bono programs to ensure strong Japanese representation
    • Strategically guide our investments in local community initiatives throughout Japan drawing on local, regional and global resources
    • Define, search and identify new relationships and partnership opportunities with NPOs to increase our impact in Japan
    • Skillfully manage our long-term relationships to find new ways to work together
    • Manage flawlessly our donations budget and process to ensure compliant and effective use of our company resources
    • Manage ad hoc disaster relief programs and create sustainable long-term revitalization efforts to protect Japan for the long-term
    • Build strong internal relationships with the region and global stakeholders to increase investment opportunities and global programs in Japan
    • Collaborate closely with Global Community Impact to increase the visibility of JCI’s efforts and contributions to achieving our global investment and volunteering targets
    • Lead a direct team of two to manage JCI initiatives and Global Community Impact (GCI) programs in Japan
    • Build internal capabilities in our team to drive greater effectiveness and efficiencies in management of our JCI programs
    • Lead the development of key assets and materials sharing our efforts (in partnership with Communications & Public Affairs) e.g. website updates, the publication of the Japan Healthy Communities report and social media updates
    • Manage and update various JCI policies, manuals and SOP according to J&J quality standards
    • Budget planning for the team and JCI more broadly
    • Processing of donations and expenses
    • Ensure compliance with all legal and internal guidelines including Health Care Compliance and FCPA regulations
