For more information, visit www.ethicon.com. You, the Laser Needlemaker will safely and efficiently execute daily tasks related to laser drilling of needles in an FDA regulated environment. Typical tasks include operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of the laser drilling equipment, inspection of laser drilled product, and raw material handling. Responsibilities: Sets up production equipment to produce subassemblies or finished products. Ensures production equipment is properly set up. Checks products on assembly line to confirm that they are properly assembled and remove defective products. Compiles records and reports on quality inspection results. Cleans, maintains and performs basic repairs on equipment as needed. Schedules maintenance and/or repairs on equipment as directed. Prepares accurate records/documentation related to quality, work in progress, test results, and special projects. Troubleshoots production problems. Qualifications Qualifications - External High school diploma or equivalent is required Minimum of 4 relevant work experience is required Completion of one year vocational, military, or equivalent technical training/experience; including basic electrical/electronics, mechanics, and math such as decimals, percentages, fractions, and tolerances is preferred CNC (Computer Numerical Control) and/or PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) machining experience is preferred Laser needle making and needle manufacturing experience is preferred Technical electronic experience and computer and database management skills is preferred Basic understanding of statistical process control is preferred Demonstrated ability to set-up, operate, and perform maintenance of manufacturing equipment preferred Experience in mechanics and an established mechanical aptitude demonstrating the ability to repair, maintain, and install mechanical equipment to specified tolerances is preferred Understand basic process principal and theory is preferred Accurate record keeping is preferred Working knowledge of basic hand tools (i.e. screwdrivers, wrenches, snips, cutters) and inspection equipment (i.e. optical comparators, micrometers, microscopes, plug gauges) is preferred Working knowledge of shop math such as decimals, fractions, and tolerances is preferred Basic understanding of engineering drawings is preferred Ability to work either 8 or 12 hour shifts, which could be day or night shift is required Primary Location United States-Georgia-Cornelia-655 Ethicon Circle Organization Ethicon Inc.
