    Position summary

    The Johnson & Johnson Law Department is recruiting for the position of Legal Group Leader, Supply Chain Pharmaceuticals.

    The Legal Group Leader, Supply Chain Pharmaceuticals will have responsibility for shaping, delivering, and overseeing the legal support for Janssen Supply Chain (JSC) across all regions, providing strategic leadership and advice on a broad range of complex issues and transactions.  This position will lead and develop a high-performing and connected team of lawyers and professional staff across all regions in support of JSC.

    This position will lead the provision of strategic legal counsel on complex projects and major network/supply issues from a regional or global perspective, including innovative transaction structures in support of JSC’s overall pipeline growth and network capacity, as well as the supply chain elements of business development transactions.

    This position will also help build a globally integrated legal organization by bringing together the full power of our legal experts across practice areas to identify innovative and impactful opportunities to advance JSC goals and to deliver streamlined and industry-leading services, including for current and emerging new modalities, while fueling our Credo-based culture. 

    The main responsibilities of the Legal Group Leader, Supply Chain Pharmaceuticals, include:

    •            Serving as Lead Attorney to the JSC LT and providing strategic counsel to that LT to advance its goals and drive growth and innovation.

    •            Provide streamlined, risk-based legal counsel on Supply Chain issues, always acting with urgency on prioritized projects.

    •            Managing and executing the drafting and negotiating of complex supply (chain) agreements relating to the sourcing of raw materials, capital equipment, manufacturing services, the implementation of new technologies and new modalities, as well as manufacture and supply of products with external business partners, collaborating closely with business partners and cross-functional partners.

    •            Advising JSC and GA&P on proposed regulations that have a high impact on current and future supply chain activities and help shape related external engagement (e.g. import/export, trade controls, govt. incentives for local manufacturing, supply chain shortages).

    •            Organizing legal support and proactively assessing and managing legal risk for end-to-end JSC activities worldwide, in close collaboration with other functional groups, including the Legal Strategy, Operations & Risk Management Group, R&D, Regulatory Legal, IP, Commercial Legal, Privacy, Quality, EHS and HCC.

    •            Serving as the Supply Chain legal lead on the Pharmaceutical Legal Leadership Team, advising the General Counsel – Pharmaceuticals of material supply chain issues and partnering across the team to ensure end-to-end management of issues.  Together with General Counsel – Pharmaceuticals, providing legal counsel and recommendations to Executives and Senior Leaders on material Supply Chain issues.

    •            Leading, developing, and building a high-performing global team of lawyers and professional staff across all regions in support of JSC. Continually assessing team capabilities as well as skill and resource gaps, to build a fit-for-purpose organization.

    •            Overseeing and coordinating legal support of certain large J&J campuses with a significant supply chain footprint, with a focus on realizing efficiencies and sharing best practices.

    •            Overseeing management of outside counsel relationships, workflow, and budget.

    •            Leading and developing a high-performing connected team of lawyers and professional staff across all regions in support of JSC with a focus on developing team expertise in advanced therapies and new modalities.
