The Logistics Supervisor oversees the daily operations and staff of storing and distribution of materials. In this key role, the Logistics Supervisor will be responsible for fostering a culture of excellence in execution, continuous improvement, and communication across production facilities globally. Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure on time processing of internal and external shipping orders, including accruing documentation
for Customs clearance on international shipments
Responsible for the proper storage & handling of Finished Good stock, Pick to Order stock and subcontracting material provided to vendor
Perform inventory & cycle counts to ensure accuracy in inventory control
Issue work orders for kitting and building Finish Goods material to maintain inventory at defined levels
Demonstrate superior teamwork in working with peers in Deliver, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality Inspection, P&P and Quality globally
Ensure effective procedures are used and staff is trained accordingly
Complete and present KPI reporting to team and Management
Identify and resolve both technical and personnel issues
Exercise judgment to determine appropriate actions
Assist receiving team when needed to perform on time booking & processing of receiving goods including proper documentation.
Qualifications
Job Qualifications:
Associate degree
5 years supervisory experience with demonstrated leadership experience
Minimum 8 years' experience in logistics & materials handling, including strong familiarity with logistics terminology
Ability to work collaboratively and lead team members
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Working knowledge of international shipments and US Customs
Working knowledge of using various systems to support shipments. (FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
Medical device experience
Working knowledge of ISO 13485, US FDA 31 CFR part 820 and GMP
Six Sigma Green Belt certification
Working knowledge of SAP
Knowledge of lean, six sigma, kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives
Physical Demands:
The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, climb, use hands, fingers, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 30 lbs. and occasionally lift and /or move up to 60 lbs.
