Regarding this open position, the Make Asset Management (MAM) Group is comprised of Engineering, Maintenance and Execution Systems. From a continued professional development perspective, the role is also well-placed for potential future opportunities both in site and global MAM, and other onsite leadership positions. Senior Engineering Lead (f/m/d) 80% or 100% Pensum The position will be located at the Schaffhausen site. The Engineering Lead will be responsible for leading the Engineering Department and partners with Business Units in the identification of innovative solutions for sophisticated production and processing equipment for the launch of products as well as continuous improvement of the product supply chain capabilities in the fields of Parenterals Fill/Finish, Small Molecule API & Solids manufacturing. Key Responsibilities The successful applicant will strive to perform to high standards at all times in compliance with Credo and Standards of Leadership Responsible and accountable for the safe execution of job activities in compliance with EHS guidelines, environmental, regulatory (cGMP), corporate site and team practices and procedures Owns MAM CAPEX budget – prepares budget, gains approval and is accountable for budget spend Accountable for Engineering project management and project execution to PDP standards, ensure projects completed on time and on budget Accountable for business case development, design development of engineering solutions to ensure new product launch capabilities Responsible for scheduling all C&Q activities, ensuring that these activities are completed while minimizing the impact across all Business Unit activities Lead the site project portfolio management (PPM) process and project funding process Overall responsibility for implementing Best Practice & Standardization enabled by a Robust Benchmarking process Utilizes an effective balance of internal and external resources including service providers in compliance with J&J policies including cGMP and EHS requirements Develops his/her team and ensure proper training and optimal deployment of Engineering personnel to achieve best-in-class departmental performance Participates as active member of the leadership team of the Schaffhausen MAM Business Unit and global MAM LM Platform Organization Qualifications University degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical or Chemical discipline A minimum of 8 years of related business experience in life science and a proven track record in Project Engineering in the pharmaceutical/chemical industry Five years of people management and the ability to develop talent is required / an asset Extensive knowledge of cGMP and GxP regulations as well as technical standards is mandatory Excellent organization and communication skills with the ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal Being persuasive, encouraging, and motivating with an ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of stakeholders at all levels, including senior management, project team members, technical teams and business partners Familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle Self-driven and able to set own targets, ability to set priorities under pressure and team player with influencing and strong analytical skills Thorough understanding of business development principles and site master plan deployment to deliver successful growth potential Language skills: Fluency (oral and written) in German (native speaker) and English with exceptional communication skills This role may require occasionally regional travel, as needed (less than 10%) This is what awaits YOU at J&J An opportunity to be part of a global market leader A dynamic and inspiring working environment Many opportunities to work on challenging projects and assignments Flexible Working Conditions Possibilities for further personal as well as professional development The well-being and development of our employees are central aspects of our company credo.
