    Position summary

    . As a global leader in the healthcare industry, Johnson & Johnson is committed to taking responsibility for our products and packaging at their end of life. We are looking for a passionate individual who can drive our Global Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) programs for J&J Innovative Medicine for packaging, batteries, sharps, electrical and electronic equipment (EEE), and urban wastewater treatment for pharmaceutical residues.

    The Manager will report to the Sr Manager Material Compliance & EPR.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Monitor EPR emerging issues and develop & implement EPR strategies (50%)

    • Monitor new and existing global, regional, and national EPR regulations, guidelines, and effective strategies to ensure strict compliance.

    • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to our EPR programs, adhering to applicable retention periods.

    • Assess our existing and future products and processes to identify areas of improvement and implement innovative solutions and benchmark with industry associations and waste management agencies to continuously improve our practices.

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across different time zones to seamlessly integrate EPR requirements into product design, packaging, and manufacturing processes, ensuring flawless compliance.

    • Regularly conduct audits and internal assessments to assess compliance and find ways to improve efficiency.

    • Support our country local operating companies in their reporting requirements.

    • Actively participate in our enterprise EPR community of practice

    Collaboration with Key Stakeholders (25%)

    • Build and maintain positive relationships with regulatory bodies, industry organizations, and other groups involved in EPR.

    • Engage in industry networks and working groups to exchange knowledge, champion collaboration, shape advocacy and contribute to a sustainable future.

    • Evaluate options for industry set up of PROs, with urban waste water treatment as a first priority, and implement roadmaps accordingly

    • Explore circular programs cross industry, e.g. CiPPPA

    Digital roadmap to support EPR Reporting (25%)

    • Advance he implementation of our digital roadmap. We apply advanced technology to enhance our processes and streamline operations.

    • Analyze and interpret EPR data to identify trends, evaluate performance, and recommend data-driven improvements for our programs.

    Qualifications

    • MSc degree in environmental science, sustainability, or a related field, or equivalent experience, showcasing your extensive knowledge and expertise in this area.

    • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data, supporting informed decisions.

    • Exceptional ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with a variety of individuals, fostering positive relationships and promoting positive change.

    • In-depth knowledge of EPR regulations, waste legislation, and sustainability practices, ensuring your ability to navigate complex regulatory environments.

    • Shown work experience in EPR, product stewardship, waste management, or a similar role, showcasing your track record of efficiently implementing and running EPR programs.

    • Proficiency in using EPR management software and sustainability reporting tools, enabling you to efficiently collect and analyze data to support our programs.

    • Fluent knowledge of English language.
