Key Responsibilities: Identifies, plans, executes, and facilitates projects from concept through installation under moderate supervision. Installs new or retrofit manufacturing equipment and performs vendor and site acceptance testing to meet established standards. Prepares equipment, process, safety, and materials specifications and conducts technical analysis of vendor proposals. Track record of working with teams of outside designers, consultants, and contractors. Develops and implements equipment and/or process enhancements that will improve efficiency, product yield and safety. Provides training and support to Operations Engineers and Technicians to operate, troubleshoot and maintain equipment. Performs other related duties as assigned by management. Deliver a high level of internal customer satisfaction using Engineering best practices and tools. Identification and resolution of Corrective/Preventative actions to address Quality, Technical, and Manufacturing issues (Audit Actions, NCR’s, CAPA’s, etc). Under general or minimal supervision, works within established guidelines and has flexibility as to method, priority, and timing of job duties. Requires moderate amount of initiative and judgment. Generally, works out details within broad guidelines and exercises considerable initiative and judgment. Qualifications BSME or similar required with 2 or more years proven experience designing and building mechanical parts and assemblies required. Mechanical design experience including statics, dynamics, kinematics, strength of materials and stress analysis preferred. Experience and proficiency using CAD to design and document both large and small parts and assemblies. SolidWorks experience preferred. Demonstrated excellence in mechanical design and knowledge of various types of motors, encoders, sensors, and drivetrain-related components such as gears, lead screws, splines, cams, linear guides, belts & pulleys required. Proven experience of designing for manufacturability and understanding of common manufacturing processes such as assembly part stack up, machining, sheet metal, casting, injection molding, and 3D printing required. Experience working with vendors to select, source, quote, and procure off the shelf and custom designed components preferred. Basic knowledge of working in an ISO and FDA regulated environment preferred. Consistent track record working well in a team environment, learning from others, as well as mentoring and coaching more junior team members. Other: This position will be located in Jacksonville, FL.
