Janssen is recruiting for a Market Access Director/Market Access Head Netherlands, located in the Netherlands The Market Access Director/Market Access Head Netherlands is responsible for obtaining and maintaining access to our innovations on the 3 payer levels we have in the Netherlands: government, healthcare insurers and individual hospitals/institutions. In particular, he/she is responsible for a coherent access strategy across these three levels and across the lifecycle of our innovations. He/she is responsible for ensuring access at optimal conditions at proper prices. Timely and upfront preparations are determinants of success, and the Director Market Access will be responsible for guiding others in the organization when it comes to expected stakeholders needs. More and more, access is subject to negotiations, again on all 3 levels, and the Director Market Access is supposed to play a driving and motivating role in those. He or she will be leading a couple of sub teams with experts dedicated to their work. Obviously, talent development is also a key element of the function. Janssen works on a future where a reward based on outcomes is the driving principle. We therefore embraced the principles of Value Based Healthcare. The Director Market Access Netherlands will be expected to contribute to our future ambitions by inspiring the team how to work on value propositions based on this very principle. The Director Market Access Netherlands will be a member of the Benelux Management Board and will lead the following teams: Health Economics, Market Access & Reimbursement (HEMAR), Contracting & Tendering / Field Access Management (FAM), Healthcare Insurers, Commercial Pricing. There will be a close working relationship with the Director External Affairs Netherlands, who is a member of the Benelux Management Board as well. Where the Director Market Access Netherlands will focus on the actual realization of access to our innovations, the Director External Affairs Netherlands works on shaping the right environment, legislation, strategic alliances and policies preparing for our future system. Obviously, an optimal cross-fertilization will be crucial. Key Responsibilities Lead the full department (28 employees) responsible for Health Economics, Market Access & Reimbursement, Health Insurance Company Policies, Field Access Management (hospital level), Procurement, Contracting & Tendering, Commercial Pricing, and relationships with wholesalers and distributors. Understand customer behavior and to build value propositions based on mutual interest, all with the ultimate end-goal in mind: to improve patient access to valuable and innovative treatments, whilst helping to move the Dutch system in a direction of outcomes focus. Ensure sustainable prices and access for our innovations going forward and ensure that our LRFP objectives will be reached. Price monitoring, prediction and collaboration with our European colleagues and with colleagues from other operating companies will be an important element. Continuously scan our future portfolio and will be responsible for defining optimal access strategies well in advance. Given our continuously changing environment, the work on this will need to start as early as possible (in collaboration with our Early Value Teams). Keeps track of (changing) access policies at all 3 payer levels and works on the optimal preparation of value propositions according to future stakeholder needs and reimbursement policies and makes sure to appropriately inform the colleagues in the organization about changing requirements. Ensure that stakeholders refer to the right data when it comes to the impact our innovations will have on society, both in terms of outcomes as well as budget impact. In close collaboration with involved colleagues, he or she will contribute to all access negotiation processes in the broadest sense of the word. With a broad knowledge, experience, and a challenging attitude, he or she will contribute to the overall negotiation skills and results in the department by collaborating with and coaching of other involved colleagues. Initiates, maintains and further develops relationships with the key stakeholders in this area, particularly our reimbursement agency (Zorginstituut), the relevant departments of the Ministry of Health, Healthcare insurers (and their umbrella organization), procurement departments from hospitals/institutions (or from hospital cooperative groups), and wholesalers. The Director Market Access Netherlands will closely work with the Director External Affairs Netherlands, who is a member of the Benelux Management Board as well. Where the Director Market Access Netherlands will focus on the actual realization of access to our innovations, the Director External Affairs Netherlands works on shaping the right environment, legislation, strategic alliances, and policies preparing for our future system. The Director External Affairs NL ensures an optimal fit with the broader Janssen Campus Netherlands strategy. Obviously, an optimal cross-fertilization between the two functions and members of their respective departments will be crucial. Talent Development is prominently on the radar at J&J. He or she will therefore also be responsible for continuous development of the members of his/her department, thereby ensuring continuity and future success of our company.
