    The Master Production Scheduler focuses day-to-day efforts towards the creation and maintenance of a constrained weekly master production schedule (MPS) and handles the frozen horizon for all possible production requirements (scheduling, rescheduling, reworks, outsourced work in progress inventory). In addition, is a key contributor into the development and implementation of best practice capacity planning models, policies, processes and procedures to support and improve manufacturing efficiency and costs. It supports the development of the detailed schedules as per the appropriate volume planning horizon (segment dependent) and helps resolve manufacturing issues while communicating the potential impact to key business partners. It adheres to environmental policy, procedures, and supports department environmental objectives.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Responsible for running a capacity constrained weekly/monthly MPS that ensures raw material availability
    • Provides site planning input for development of site capacity models & schedule optimization models.
    • Performs site/portfolio Capacity Planning and site/portfolio MPS in terms of resources, shifts, equipment and shutdowns.
    • Completes periodic (weekly/monthly) reviews of MPS, resolves issues, and optimizes MPS, translating business situations into requirements to conduct different analyses and develop what-if scenarios.
    • Drives planning and freeze period management to resolve any manufacturing constraints for site/ portfolio while assessing and communicating impact of production changes
    • Participates in S&OP / IBP forums and delivers into S&OP / IBP process the site supply response based on the capacity/production planning assumptions including highlights of identified risks and opportunities.
    • Facilitates Monthly site supply S&OP / IBP readiness meetings with functional leaders
    • Analyses month end activity to establish the need for forecast modification and recommends revisions.
    • Leads issues through Plan Escalation Process and notifies personnel/management as appropriate.
    • Drives production scenario planning in potential or evident inventory shortages.
    • Serves as SME and provides guidance on MPS Planning requirements to Project Leads/Managers.
