Medical Trainer (m/f/d) Full Time or Part Time 80% Location: Norderstedt (near Hamburg) Rapid changes in health care systems drive the shift to simulation-based education. Pressures include a decrease in work hours and operating room experience for residents. Clinical simulation in all its forms is essential for medical education with the key aims of improving learner’s competence, improving patient safety and reducing errors. The Johnson & Johnson Institute (JJI) Hamburg belongs to the Johnson & Johnson MEDICAL GmbH and is part of the Johnson & Johnson EMEA Education Solutions Organization. It is one of the most renowned and experienced centers for medical training in Europe and offers a wide range of clinical simulation settings (Artificial/Organic Tissue Labs, Live Tissue Labs, VR, Anatomic Lab, VR Simulation) providing the most realistic training atmosphere for health care professionals. Per year, more than 15,000 visitors come to the JJI, among those health care professionals from all over EMEA and from various medical specialties to be trained in the latest surgical/medical procedures. Internal J&J colleagues are trained here as well. JJI’s purpose is to ensure the highest standards for a safe, effective and overall impactful learning experience for participants and faculties alike by providing outstanding training support for optimal training outcomes that ultimately serve the well-being of patients. Furthermore, the Institute is a healthcare location of excellence and an event location for all different kinds of meetings, symposia, congresses and workshops. The Clinical Simulation department is operated by three closely collaborating teams which support all activities happening in the training area of the Institute. The main focus will be to ensure a consistent lab experience for participants and faculties by following all established safety and lab procedures thus ensuring the highest standards of professionalism, ethics and compliance. The Medical Training Team is directly supporting venues planned in one of the practical hands-on areas. The team Clinical Simulation I is operating the Live Tissue Lab Area and the team Clinical Simulation II is operating the Anatomical Lab area. The Medical Training team of the JJI Hamburg consists of medical staff specifically trained to support and assist the responsible faculty surgeon and course participants during training courses in the area of various surgical/medical specialties mainly at JJI, but also at external training locations. Tasks & Responsibilities The Medical Trainer (m/f/d) will be responsible for the planning and execution of practical courses. The main focus will be to ensure a consistent lab experience for participants by following all established safety and lab procedures to ensure the highest standards of professionalism, ethics and compliance and actively support our compliance program-related initiatives and activities. Supporting the responsible faculty surgeon during medical training courses in the area of videoscopic, orthopedics and open surgery (surgical procedures, product training, etc.) in all Labs for physicians, OR staff, and J&J employees, both within the institute as well as externally in Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA region) Preparing training content and training programs for courses, seminars, workshops, and symposia, as well as internal training Preparation, follow-up, and care of surgical workplaces in the laboratory and the OR Being a competent contact partner for national and international, internal and external customers, that is, for J&J customers in the area of professional education and sales, learning and development, as well as customers from hospitals and universities Special requirements Taking over administrative tasks necessary to the performance of the essential functions (for example: ordering consumables, taking stock, shipping equipment etc.) as needed for ProfEd and CommEd courses Support CommEd/ProfEd-evaluation and investigation of new training models Working experience in a surgical theatre Good communicative competence Ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements High level of customer orientation Ability to move safely in an international environment Independent and self-responsible way of working High interest in continuing education Competent handling of Microsoft Office Other features of the job Acquiring and verifying of course documents (agenda, list of participants, requests for products/instruments, training models, cost estimations) Arrangement with ProfEd/CommEd managers or external customers about course requirements, set-up and table numbers Individual support of Medical Training Teamlead (presentations, statistics, analysis, JSA) Structural organization of the training setup in the lab area for commercial education programs Organization of business processes including health and safety Close collaboration with commercial education managers Area of responsibility in the field of commercial education trainings as supporting function for internal training programs Qualifications Essential knowledge and skills: preferable medical background required/ working experience in a surgical theatre Technical understanding of all equipment Talent for organization and management High degree of professionalism Core proficiencies required for this role: Good communication skills Presentation skills Ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements High customer orientation and service behavior Ability to move safely in an international environment Independent, self-reliant working style Fluent spoken and written German Fluent spoken and written English PC skills What we offer Our employees are just as important to us as our customers.
