Janssen Biologics Leiden, part of the Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical business is recruiting for an Operations Manager, located in Leiden, The Netherlands. The Operations Manager is responsible for PES (Production Environmental Services) and SMPS (Staff Manufacturing Process Specialist) teams working across (shift) teams, departments and business units in an open and constructive manner. Also assures that our Manufacturing Facilities are Fitted for their Purpose and in alignment with Johnson & Johnson's cGMP Facilities & clean utilities standards. The Operations Manager is accountable for: The safety, quality and timely execution of the duties of the PES and SMPS teams. The personnel on his/her (shift) team, their performance and development. Reliability: delivering product in compliance with EHSS(Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability), cGMP regulations, internal J&J and site documentation, and according to the Master Production Schedule. Redefining policies (e.g., Human resources as well as Process Excellence) as a change agent into day-to-day processes is essential. Key Responsibilities: Accountable for the effective performance of the shift against MPS/KPIs. This includes EHSS, cGMP and MPS adherence. Change agent to let teams adapt to new policies and assure new processes are developed, implemented, sustained and improved to attain to them. Manages and instigates new people development systems / training (e.g., internship, education) for his/her team members. As a people manager oversees human resources budget by selection of new employees within the teams, setting objectives in line with the business strategy and responsible for conducting the 5 conversations cycle. Maintains engagement, high morale, motivation and efficiency within his/her teams by adhering to the J&J leadership imperatives. Builds a positive environment for employee development. Enables a good pipeline of succession for key positions in Johnson & Johnson. Keeps a cross-departmental approach to process deviations and MPS. Analytical ability, performance management and problem solving are key. Responsible for first line immediate corrective actions to continue production at Operations. Accountable for the first line assessment and line side resolution of EHSS, PE and GMP deviations, e.g. (near) incidents and compliance non-conformances. Responsible for self-inspections and supports plans for corrective actions. Responsible for any 24/7 production activities, associated with PES and related business units. Accountable to set priorities in case of conflicting situations within PES, SMPS and operating (shift) teams. Constantly reviewing, evaluating and improving the efficiency of two first mentioned teams. Directly coordinating the prioritization within the (shift) period to ensure the best utilization of staff, materials and production areas. Accountability for improving harmony and alignment between teams, shift teams and other onsite departments to improve the work processes across the full production process and build trust and collaboration across all these teams and departments. Establish a socially safe working environment where every employee feels confident and rewarded. Present at the shop floor and engaged with the departmental performance management meetings. Qualifications Required: Minimal of 5 years of practical and industrial experience and at least 3 years of people leader experience Proven people leadership skills and profound change agent Shown Process Excellence skills and digital skills Excellent EHSS and GMP awareness & experience Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (NL/EN) Preferred: Master's Degree in a relevant topic Other: Belt or other relevant certification is a plus !
