Johnson & Johnson Consumer Health is recruiting for a Post Doc position in pre-clinical safety data sciences, located in Skillman, New Jersey (2-year position). The intent of the position is to build the data sciences capabilities and US based pre-clinical safety bench strength with strong talent that can potentially transition into a longer-term scientific career track within J&J Consumer health R&D. The post-doctoral researcher will be an individual contributor and US based point person lead within the Global pre-clinical safety team dedicated to developing data sciences modelling to support pre‐clinical safety and toxicology assessments for APIs and excipients. The post-doctoral researcher will use data sciences to conduct risk assessments and apply data sciences health modelling for new products (NPD) and life cycle management of existing products that are marketed by the J&J Consumer Health. The candidate will also closely work with the US Medical and Clinical Sciences team to contribute to relevant strategic efforts related to in market ingredient topics for the portfolio. This role will also have significant engagement with the Center of Excellence Pre-clinical science team located in Mumbai India. The role is expected to elevate the state of the data science modelling expertise in pre-clinical data approaches to Consumer Health products from a toxicological perspective. The role will also partner with other cross-functional medical/clinical experts to contribute to creative pre-clinical toxicological methods that support the innovation pipeline. Key Responsibilities: Crafting, validating, and improving data driven decision making processes and strategies to assess ingredients/excipients, products and Dietary Supplements in Johnsons & Johnson’s Consumer Health sector for successful new product development and support changes in the existing products. Evaluating existing data against preclinical requirements and plan for appropriate preclinical studies (in vitro and in vivo studies) and implementing & evaluating the study outcomes to support safety. Reviewing of preclinical study design, protocols and reports to ensure compliance of safety requirements. Carrying out literature search, analyze the safety data and prepare non-clinical section of regulatory documents such as e-CTD, Clinical Trial Application, Company Core Data Sheets etc. within Consumer Health domain. Providing support to address global Health Authority queries and compliance activities. Representation as Toxicology team member in internal and external meetings and develop as Toxicology subject matter authority in Consumer Health franchises. Writing, preparing, and presenting posters, manuscripts and technical reports for internal and external conferences, advisory boards and symposiums. Working closely within global Toxicology team and collaborating with different partners to ensure seamless support to business requirements. Connecting with medical safety, medical affairs, regulatory and other functions to gain insights and provide overall technical support. Qualifications Qualifications: Ph. D. in Toxicology or in biological sciences with research in toxicology as evidenced by publications. Experience within silico tox modelling software (e.g., OECD toolbox, ConsExpo and/or others) Experience in assembling, analyzing, and visualizing complex data sets. Programming experience in relevant software (e.g., Python, R, SPSS, Matlab, Spark/PySpark, SQL, and/or other related programming languages). High proficiency with a broad spectrum of advanced data science techniques and experienced with toxicology, exposure, or health assessments. Ability to critically evaluate data from multiple sources (study reports and literature, etc.). Ability to describe Hazard and prepare Risk assessment reports. Must have excellent communication, interpersonal and collaborative skills. Detail oriented, organized, self-starter with a proven record of achievements.
