Janssen Research & Development, LLC is part of the Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies. Janssen is seeking a PostDoc to work at the NIST Facility in Gaithersburg, MD. The PostDoc under the guidance of the NIST scientists will assist in the development of a radioisotope standard. This position is a 12—18-month assignment. Key Responsibilities: Works closely with a team of NIST scientists & Janssen scientists. Draws basic conclusions from data and results and communicates closely with internal and external partners and provides regular updates on project status. Assures state-of-the-art methodology, technology and equipment is utilized at external partners. Communicates project status and interacts on a regular basis with project leaders and functional experts and constructively influences decision making Writes reports and delivers presentations, which are clear, organized, focused, and intellectually sound. Maintains and follows all external partner and company SOPs and safety rules. Qualifications Ph.D. in Nuclear Physics/Nuclear Engineering or Radio/Radioanalytical Chemistry. Coursework should include a minimum of 1st year general chemistry with laboratory is required. Knowledge and expertise in handling and manipulating short lived radioisotopes in a safe and controlled environment including proper disposal techniques is required. Knowledge of U.S. NRC rules and regulations pertaining to radiation safety is required. Able to read, understand, and verify accuracy of protocols and reports is required. Excellent verbal, partnering and communication skills with an innate ability to develop and articulate sound ideas and arguments to teams, project leaders and internal and external scientific partners is required. Familiarity with statistical analysis and evaluation of uncertainty is preferred. Able to present clearly and effectively to scientists and all levels of management within and outside of function locally and remotely is required.
