Janssen R&D is recruiting for a Postdoctoral Fellow located in Spring House, PA. The candidate will join a drug discovery team to tdevelop cutting-edge biologics and small molecules for the treatment of hematologic malignancies. This candidate will work independently on a project designed to further the understanding of hematological malignancy biology (multiple myeloma-focused) with the goal of investigating mechanisms of T cell redirection resistance. The candidate will have the ability to work with and learn from experts within discovery oncology research, specialized in cell and molecular biology, flow cytometry, computational biology, and in vivo sciences, while also leveraging additional resources at Janssen R&D. The candidate is expected to present and publish their research. Troubleshooting skills are critical. The candidate will demonstrate urgency, be organized, have the ability to work well in a team setting and be sensitive to timelines. Key Responsibilities: Mammalian tissue culture of cell lines and primary human cells and blood products (BSL2 and BSL2+) Processing and dissociating mouse blood and tumors from in vivo studies for analysis by flow cytometry Perform molecular biology techniques such as: transfections, transductions, western blotting, immunoprecipitation, siRNA/shRNA, qRT-PCR, flow cytometry and ELISA (e.g. MSD and Luminex). Immune assays such as T and NK cell redirection, cytokine release, immune cell purification, and characterization Run multiple experiments/projects simultaneously Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks and prepare technical reports, summaries, protocols, etc, and maintain familiarity with relevant scientific literature Design, perform, interpret, troubleshoot and report complex data to managers in a clear and concise manner Qualifications Education: A Ph.D. in cell and/or molecular biology, oncology, immunology, biochemistry, microbiology, or related field with related laboratory experience is required. Experience and Skills: Required: Data analysis using common software programs (ie. Excel, GraphPad Prism, and FlowJo) and comprehension of basic statistical methods Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with people, internally and externally Excellent oral and written communication skills. Able to effectively present scientific data and concepts to international standards Preferred: Related Experience: Drug discovery experience in a biotech or pharmaceutical environment Previous work with antibody therapies, bi-specific antibodies, and cellular therapies (e.g. CAR-T) Flow cytometry analysis and interpretation Functional assays to test drug candidates (e.g. cytotoxicity, proliferation, apoptosis) Immune Oncology or Immunology experience Basic understanding of bioinformatics, programming and/or RNA sequencing is preferred but not necessary Johnson & Johnson is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer.
