    The Cell Therapy group of Janssen Therapeutics Discovery seeks a talented and highly motivated Principal Scientist to join our induced pluripotent iPSC-derived Cell Therapy team. You will be part of across-disciplinary team responsible for developing a robust platform of genetically engineered, iPSC-derived cell therapy products for oncology and other indications. Key activities include leading optimization of iPSC redifferentiation protocols and phenotypic and molecular characterization of iPSC-derived cell intermediates. The successful candidate will utilize a full suite of advanced technologies to develop best-in-class, off-the-shelf, CAR-engineered cell therapy drug candidates.

    Primary responsibilities:

    • Lead an Immunology-focused research group focused on optimizing protocols for iPSC redifferentiation to lymphocytes and on evaluating the developmental and maturational stages of iPSC-derived cell intermediates
    • Coordinate experiments with other scientists across functional groups to manage multiple projects and to present results to internal stakeholders while adhering to aggressive timelines
    • Provide mentorship and support to direct reports and other team members as a subject matter expert
    • Proactively investigate and provide improvements to processes across the team
    • Foster a collaborative, creative, and rigorous culture of scientific discovery
