The translational PK/PD group within the department of Preclinical Sciences and Translational Safety is seeking a highly motivated Scientist to support PK/PD characterization informing the discovery and development of novel biologics through FIH across many therapeutic areas (TA) including oncology, immunology, metabolic diseases, neurology, and infectious diseases. Key Responsibilities: Apply target and disease biology, and PK/PD concepts to design and drive stage appropriate PK/PD strategies and experiments including target engagement, receptor occupancy, pharmacokinetic and biodistribution studies and other relevant ADME studies to improve scientific understanding, and support decisions on the design of novel biologics and lead candidate selections. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including discovery, biophysics, toxicology, and bioanalytical groups and others, to ensure knowledge exchange and integration for the success of the programs. Represent translational PK/PD function on project teams starting from early discovery through IND/CTA filing for various biologic modalities. Independently conducts NCA, compartmental PK/PD, and/or PBPK analysis to derive first in human and efficacious dose projections. Work in close collaboration with pharmacometrics to develop and implement mechanistic based PK/PD approaches. Accountable to determine FIH doses, write and/or review technical reports, interact with global regulatory agencies, and be involved in drafting preclinical PK and related sections in an IND or CTA. Perform platform investigations on novel biologic modalities (bispecifics, cell and gene therapy) from building data libraries and conducting meta-analyses using fit-for-purposes. Present findings in scientific conferences and publish research work in high quality and impact journals. Qualifications Education: A PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmacology, Immunology, or related degree with 0-2 years of post-doctoral research or experience in pharmaceutical industry. Experience and Skills: Required: 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical / biotech / CRO industry is required. Preferred: Extensive knowledge and research experience in elucidating PK, PK/PD and related properties for large molecule therapeutics is preferred. Strong ability to understand complex mechanistic PK/PD models is required. Hands on experience with at least one commonly used software tools (Eg: Phoenix WinNonlin, Monolix, or others) is preferred. Strong publication record is highly preferred. Excellent communication and proven ability to work with cross-functional teams is preferred.
