As an R&D Systems Engineer, Instruments and Accessories, you will drive success of next-generation surgical robotics. You will play a key role in the product definition and design of Monarch Instruments and Accessories by leading requirements development, risk management, and systems integration throughout all phases of product development. This role will apply your technical expertise and leadership skills to develop an innovative system to meet our business and clinical need. Job Responsibilities: Develop requirements and perform risk analysis for Monarch Instruments and Accessories Lead integration at the subsystem, system, and clinical level including system integration labs, internal physician labs, design validation, and clinical studies Definition and characterization of subsystem and system interfaces resolving complex engineering challenges at the intersection of hardware, software, controls, robotics, electrical, manufacturing, and clinical Lead collaboration with R&D, manufacturing, clinical, marketing, product management, quality, and regulatory stakeholders to define product design, risk mitigations, and develop cross-functional solutions Develop test protocols and conduct Design Verification Testing (DVT) of subsystem interfaces Support product complaint investigations and defect review board Manage Systems Engineering processes and practices Qualifications Required Skills and Experience: Minimum Bachelor's degree required in Engineering (e.g., Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Biomedical), Computer Science, or other related field Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience Experience with requirements development and risk management Experience working within medical device industry or other regulated industry Experience leading cross-functional collaboration across R&D and other stakeholders Demonstrated ability to think analytically, solve problems, make decisions, and use sound judgment to drive product development Thrive in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment with multiple priorities Organized with strong project management skills Outstanding written, oral, and presentation communications skills Strong creative and innovative ability Ability to travel up to 10% required At Johnson & Johnson, we’re on a mission to change the trajectory of health for humanity.
