Janssen Research & Development, LLC is part of the Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies We seek a motivated and high performing individual to join the Cell Therapy group within Therapeutics Discovery (TD) and to support the development of a novel cell therapy platform. The successful candidate will have a background in immunology, cell biology, or immuno-oncology and experience in culturing induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and gene-editing. Success in this position will require the ability to independently design and execute in vitro gene-editing assays and to work well within a cross-functional team. This role is an exciting opportunity to join a diverse and ambitious discovery team and to work with state-of-art technology to create life-changing therapies for patients. Key Responsibilities: The key responsibilities will involve: Performing experiments to generate and characterize genetically engineered iPSCs in addition to evaluating cutting-edge gene-editing technologies. Experience in iPSC cell culture, flow cytometry, and molecular biology techniques is required. The successful candidate needs to develop strong collaborations with other colleagues in TD and with Oncology Therapeutic Area (TA) partners. Qualifications Education: Master’s Degree in Immunology, Cell Biology, Biomedical Engineering, or related field with 6 years of gene editing experience or a B.S./B.A. with 9 years of experience is required Experience and Skills: Required: Experience with iPSC cell culture is required Experience with molecular biology techniques (plasmid design, DNA extraction, PCR, sequencing, etc.) is required Experience working with viral and non-viral gene-editing methods is required Preferred: CRISPR gene-editing technologies including gRNA design, donor template building, cleavage efficiency assays, genomic integration analysis, etc. is preferred In-depth experience with multi-parameter flow cytometry is preferred Prior immunology experience, including T cell and NK cell biology and chimeric antigen receptors is preferred Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills Self-motivated and able to work well within a team At Johnson & Johnson, we’re on a mission to change the trajectory of health for humanity.
