This candidate will join the Discovery Proteomic Platforms (DPP) group within the Discovery Technologies and Molecular Pharmacology (DTMP) department of Therapeutics Discovery, to develop and apply groundbreaking approaches to proteomic screening and analysis. This effort will support the identification and development of small and large molecule therapeutics for diseases within Oncology, Immunology, Infectious Diseases, Neuroscience, and Cardiovascular and Metabolic Diseases. You will work in an exciting, interdisciplinary environment, overlapping the different stages of the discovery pipeline, by interacting with several internal and external organizations. You will implement proteomic experiments from proteomics sample prep through LC-MS acquisition and data analysis. With your help, we will drive development of medicines for our patients! Key Responsibilities: Generate samples for proteomics analysis from a variety of sources (immortalized cell lines, FFPE, fresh-frozen tissue, plasma/serum, etc.). Maintain multiple cell lines in both flasks and plates. Prepare assay plates and perform chemical treatments and perturbations. Apply high efficiency proteomics sample preparation methodologies across many experiment types (global proteomic profiling, immunoprecipitation, affinity, PTM analysis). Employ and troubleshoot several mass spectrometry acquisition modes (DIA, DDA, PRM) to acquire data required to answer experimental questions. Maintain and trouble shoot nanoflow liquid chromatography systems. Collaborate with colleagues from within the proteomics group to drive proteomics experiments across the drug discovery portfolio. Employ automation capabilities to enable the rapid generation of mass spectrometry datasets. Demonstrate creativity and apply novel approaches to solving scientific problems. Propose novel and practical ideas, aligned with scientific strategies and demands. Qualifications Education: A Bachelor’s degree or higher is required (in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Pharmacology, or a related field). Experience and Skills: A minimum of 2 or more years of proven experience in a proteomics laboratory setting, preferably in a drug discovery biotech or pharmaceutical environment. Experience with liquid chromatography (Waters nanoAcquity or Thermo EASY-nLC or UltiMate 3000) and mass spectrometry (Thermo QE, Exploris, Eclipse, Lumos or Bruker timsTOF) instrumentation is preferred. Minimum of 1 year experience with mammalian cell culture and treatment is required. Strong organizational skills and being able to handle several projects at a time is preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact successfully with diverse colleagues is preferred.
