    Janssen Research & Development is recruiting for a  Senior Associate Scientist  within the CVMR-PH Discovery group in Retinal Discovery located on the  San Francisco Bay Campus in Brisbane, CA  to support drug discovery of novel therapeutics for retinal disease.

    The candidate will work in a collaborative environment where ideas can be respectfully challenged to drive excellence and innovation.  The position is laboratory-based with the primary responsibility of the Senior Associate Scientist to provide scientific and technical support for conducting research in drug development for retinal diseases. The qualified scientist will lead design, optimization, validation, and implementation of in vitro assays for compound screening and/or mechanism of action investigation. He/she needs to independently plan and execute experiments, to follow protocols, to document data, to troubleshoot problems, and to interpret data and communicate results.  A deep understanding of cellular and molecular pathways underlying retinal degeneration, neuroinflammation, or vascular injury is desired. Previous experience in industry is preferred.
