Johnson & Johnson's Front End Digital Solutions, part of Ethicon Endo-Surgery is recruiting for a(n) Senior Data Scientist, located in Cincinnati, OH, or remote. The Senior Data Scientist will work with internal and external teams on solutions that use an increasingly diverse set of data (video, audio, healthcare data) to improve surgical outcomes. This will include all steps of development, from early ideation to data collection and analysis, creation of machine learning workflows, and readying the models for deployment. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate across teams to conceive, test, and implement digital surgical solutions. Establish performance criteria and success metrics in accordance with clinical requirements. Craft and improve data collection procedures to include accurate and relevant data for machine learning models. Perform exploratory data analysis using state-of-the-art methods. Seek and screen data from third-party sources for data augmentation. Process, clean, and verify the integrity of data used for modeling. Perform analysis of failure modes and measure the unintended model bias. Maintain machine learning pipelines and implement the appropriate models and data governance. Foster an open and honest culture of creativity and collaboration with intelligent risk-taking and respectful questioning. Provide peer feedback & mentor junior associates. Learn medical terminology, procedures & instrumentation. Qualifications Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree with 3+ years of experience, or Ph.D. with 1+years of experience in Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering, or related field. Skills: Required: A sophisticated understanding of data science techniques and algorithms, including machine learning algorithms and deep learning architectures. Experience with signal processing (sound, video, continuous measurements). Experience with Computer Vision and/or Natural Language Processing. Proficiency in SQL, Spark, Python, Python data science stack (NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, Scikit-Learn, Jupyter), Keras, and other ML tools. Excellent data visualization skills. Excellent statistical reasoning and applied statistics skills. Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools (Airflow, MLFlow). Experience with Git source control. Experience working with AWS services (S3, EC2, Redshift) and Microsoft Azure. Preferred: Experience in the medical device industry or other regulated industries. Experience with the Agile methodology. Experience with Kubernetes and Docker. Technical writing experience with protocols, quality procedures, and reports. Other: The position can be remote or based in Cincinnati, OH. Remote work requires the ability to travel to Cincinnati, OH as needed. May require up to 10% travel domestically and internationally.
