Senior General Ledger Accountant Location: Prague Contract: full time, permanent contract The responsibilities & the impact YOU will have: Independent ownership of month-end closing activities for country in scope - prepare and review monthly journal entries and account reconciliations for assigned general ledger accounts related analytics Solid understanding of inter-departmental and cross-team dependencies Responsible for the accuracy of General Ledger accounting entries and Reconciliations in accordance with GAAP, Compliance, Internal Audit and SOX requirements; Build a strong awareness of the local business and closely cooperate with local teams Process owner (Subject Matter Expert) for accounting processes Research and resolve discrepancies with a focus on automation and process improvement Special projects as assigned from time to time including technical and new business initiatives Responsibility of complex accounting matters/calculations/ account ownership Proactively drives team operations: to be “go to person”, onboarding new joiners, active participation in meetings, provide training and documentation update Ensure strong internal controls are in place in order to achieve “adequate” internal and external audit ratings. Accurate and timely month-end accounting focus. Meets all corporate and regional deadlines Demonstrate understanding and ownership of financials Qualifications We would love to hear from YOU, if you have: Bachelor degree 2-4 year(s) working experience In-depth understanding of accounting cycle, month-end close process and flow of financial information within the General Ledger Attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information MS Office literacy (Advanced MS Excel knowledge required) Good ERP knowledge (SAP) Proficient level of written and oral English Strong interpersonal & communication skills with an ability to work with people at different levels and in remote locations Self-motivated, deadline oriented, fast-learner, who is an organized, dedicated, hands-on team player with excellent problem-solving skills and comfortable with unstructured, dynamic environment This is what awaits YOU at J&J: An opportunity to be part of a global market leader.
