    Position summary

    the portfolio's value proposition, and reaching patients and key stakeholders in meaningful ways through earned and social media.

    A critical part of the role will be implementing business objectives and strategies behind our core products, from communicating scientific data to the HCP community to developing strong disease awareness campaigns that reach key stakeholders via direct-to-patient communication efforts. The work also involves issues management, and communications around public policy matters and consumer access.

    This role will serve as a strategic communications partner to the Vice President, Medical Affairs, as well as the Director of Marketing, and report to the C&PA Leader for Pulmonary Hypertension. The senior manager will also partner with the marketing team on a signature unbranded awareness campaign and lead on strategy and content development for our PH social media communities across Facebook and Instagram to drive education and engagement in partnership with patient advocates.

    Core Responsibilities

    Develop and implement innovative communication and public affairs strategies and programs in support of brand business objectives for UPTRAVI®, OPSUMIT®, OPSYNVI®.

    Build stakeholder trust through proactive advocacy efforts, with a key focus on engaging and supporting the patient advocate communities in PAH.

    Proactively drive business and Enterprise outcomes by identifying and applying key outcomes metrics to communication practices, and provide insights that drive confidence, integration and alignment. Partner closely with Marketing and Strategy & Insights Center of Excellence to develop metrics and assess impact.

    Identify potential brand-related issues and develop proactive issues-management strategies.

    Build understanding of current issues in the environment affecting businesses and brands; in partnership with Public Affairs colleagues, develop and implement public affairs strategies that inform and shape belief, action, behavior, and advocacy to shape the external environment.

    Serve as strategic counselor to business unit leaders on external and internal thought leadership content.

    Additional Responsibilities

    • Drive business growth and build stakeholder trust/advocacy through proactive public relations.

    • Drive employee engagement and advocacy through powerful organizational communications: Partnering with business leaders, develop internal communication strategy and messages to inspire, engage, inform and align employees.

    • Shape and influence business decisions and serve as trusted advisor to mid and senior level leaders, including marketing and medical affairs leadership.

    • Develop and curate content that is compelling, relevant, and grounded in scientific data and stakeholder insights.

    • Manage public relations agency; includes managing public relations budget, measurement and reviews.

    • Build Global C&PA capability and excellence: Model and inspire a continuous growth mindset to ensure function stays on the forefront of communications, change, technology, social media and other key media trends; share best practices.

    • Partner closely with the relevant Therapeutic Area Communication Leader within the J&J R&D organization, Corporate Media Relations, Public Affairs, Government Affairs and Investor Relations.

    Qualifications

    Required Minimum Education

    BA required

    Requirements

    • Proven performer with 8 or more years of experience leading communications in a company, NGO, government agency or public relations agency; consistent track record of successful public relations/communications, corporate communication, product communication, public affairs, and/or media relations achievements

    • Direct health care experience required; pharmaceutical or medtech product experience required; relevant therapeutic area experience a plus.

    • Proven track record of successful public relations/communication, corporate communication, pharmaceutical product approval and launch communication support and/or media relations achievements

    • Professional experience across various social media platforms, including the development of multichannel communication strategies and execution

    • Ability to develop successful working relationships and serve as subject matter authority with mid to senior level executives

    • Excellent judgment and professional maturity and ability to work effectively across levels, functions, regions, backgrounds

    • Demonstrated ability to craft compelling stories with superior written, oral and visual communication abilities

    • Experience building and maintaining patient advocate relationships

    • Experience working with national, local, trade and social media

    • Experience in leading project budgets/schedules

    Salary

    The base pay range for this position is $118,000 - $203,550 USD

    Bonus

    The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.
