    Our Senior Manager will have ownership over all the simulation, modeling and design work for the Hand-held devices.  This role will require knowledge in latest FEA techniques (linear and non-linear), GD&T and Modeling practices.  This role will shape the future innovations needed to change the standard of care in general surgery and accelerate our development process through in-silico studies. The leader should have a change agent mindset to usher the organization towards cutting edge methodologies, while also leveraging current practices in order to reduce cycle time and prototype do-loops.

    The role will serve the full Endo-mechanical and Energy portfolios and work closely with the NPD and PPMG Sponsors to balance resources in accordance to priority and need.  Further, the leader will partner with the Regulatory Bodies (internal and external) to further leverage in-silico studies in our regulatory strategies.  This team member will have career development, resource management, budget, software and oversight responsibilities for all of our simulation, modeling and designer needs.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Establish departmental standards for software, techniques, and tools to prepare technical drawings
    • Establish the groups’ guidelines, standards and adherence to GD&T
    • Drive excellence in tolerance stack-ups through methods (e.g. statistical tolerancing) and software
    • Set the direction and govern the use of FEA and Modeling Software
    • Ability to use analytical skills to assess and modify design proposals
    • Proactively assess and review risk mitigation and escalation processes and drive timely project execution
    • Communicate effectively with various levels in the organization
    • Collaborate, cooperate, and coordinate with cross-functional partners
    • Partner with R&D platform leadership to support success of platform goals and objectives
    • Ensure projects are delivered according to scope, schedule, budget, and quality baselines
    • Develop talent, across multiple levels, through effective coaching, 1:1’s, mentoring and candid feedback
