This position with the Cardiovascular Metabolism, Retinal & Pulmonary Discovery team will drive the identification of novel targets and biomarkers from omic data (Transcriptomic, Single-cell/nuclear, Metabolomic, Proteomics, Genetic) generated from human cohorts, preclinical model studies or clinical trials.
The successful candidate will drive the identification of disease mechanisms suitable for therapeutic development through the use of cutting-edge bioinformatics & integrative data science building towards a compelling human data package and validation plan.
They will collaborate closely with therapeutic area biologists, biomarker leads and program teams to drive in-silico identification of biomarkers for emerging drug discovery programs.
They will develop algorithms to enable large-scale data mining and drive the development of tools and platforms enabling interpretation of emerging data across the therapeutic area.
This role will also uncover opportunities for therapeutic translation from preclinical models to human and seek to establish markers of disease heterogeneity, progression, and treatment response from data sources including clinical trials, precompetitive consortia, academic collaborations or population biobanks. The Senior Scientist will provide ad hoc training and help to biology teams on the use of computational tools, data analyses and interpretation; provide technical expertise for emerging technologies and approaches.
The scientist in this role will also drive strategic external collaborations supporting our overall goals and capabilities in bioinformatics and data science.
