    Position summary

    General  summary

    Lead functions of: Strategic Pricing & Tenders, Commercial Analytics, Strategic Account Management, Value Added Services, and the Service & Repair Teams. Shapes the solutions and products of tomorrow and drives the right pricing strategies. Excellence in both strategy and execution is an important responsibility in this role.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    Commercial Management

    The core responsibility of this role is to provide commercial insights to our BUD’s that enable better,

    more focused execution of the commercial strategy. This includes the development, evaluation and

    design of a Key Account Management organization which will progress our commercial capabilities

    designed according to the elements belonging to our Private Hospital procurement principles and our tender driven markets.

    Commercial Analytics and Strategic Pricing

    Use systems, data and analytics to understand short- and long-term commercial opportunities. This could be in relation to Account Profitability, SGP protection, Market Segmentation, External Benchmark information, EMEA Pricing direction and overall volume-based pricing analytics. The successful candidate will then be responsible for providing Business Unit Directors with information on which to base decisions regarding resource allocation, investments, and priorities.

    Value Added Services (VAS)

    VAS is an area which will have increased focus and as such you will be the local VAS expert to ensure that central strategies are executed, and local needs are communicated with the EMEA team.

    To develop, package and price value added services that can be sold and used in customer negotiations.

    Examples could include, patient pathway efficiency, Operating theatre efficiency, Inventory and Supply Chain efficiency.

    Develop services specifically for the South African market other than commercial driven topics that can help the J&J MedTech organization in differing from other suppliers in the marketplace. This includes the Service & repair mandate.

    Critical callouts to managing the full Strategic Capabilities team:

    • Balance Strategic (future) and operational requirements from the Team.
    • Accurate and on time reporting (Innovation)
    • Business Intelligence - enable better data based strategic decisions
    • SFE & GTM executed to enable continuous improvement
    • Strategic pricing – on time, accurate, compliant, future focused
    • Renewed and effective Quotations process using the BOT system
    • HOG Strategic relationships leading to VC opportunities
    • Ensuring appropriate Process Governance
    • Reporting & Analytics excellence
    • Dashboard development (better & faster data-based decision making)
    • Accurate and timely Pricing and Quotations
    • HOG’s productive partnerships 
    • Governance & Compliance (Pricing, Tenders, Contracts)
    • SFE – OneForce
    • GTM – Future modelling

    Compliance and training:

    • 100% Completion of relevant training procedures referring to departmental training matrix.
    • Demonstrates Credo based leadership principles in all interactions with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Ensure applicable company/healthcare compliance with all relevant country and EMEA requirements, company regulations, policies and procedures.
