    Position summary

    ent, evaluate, and manage learning development projects

    • work on complex training projects, sometimes multiple projects concurrently

    • identify ways to innovate and drive learning retention and mentor junior members of the team

    • manage a design project lifecycle end-to-end: receive a project request, help determine modality, create the design strategy and digital learning solutions, validate the course on a Learning Management System (LMS), and address learner feedback

    • also potentially invest a significant amount of time editing and enhancing existing programs, especially new hire training

    Job responsibilities

    Project Management / Needs Analysis

    • Partner with project sponsor, management and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to understand needs, make recommendations, and develop a learning solution(s) that continuously improves employee performance

    • Apply agile methodologies and manage all aspects of training projects through the learning design process, and ensure all training materials are properly reviewed and approved by required business partners

    • Regularly communicate project status to all involved parties and escalate appropriately; and hold SMEs / others accountable for content deliverables, review and approval deadlines

    Design

    • Identify and develop innovative, impactful solutions for large, complex projects that address requirements, improve learner outcomes and deliver measurable results to the business

    • Employ design thinking, digital design and agile development processes to create and implement learning products consistent with adult learning theory that effectively convey key information, ensure maximum learner retention, and achieve learning objectives

    • Effectively use current training technology tools and software (e.g., Storyline, Adobe Premier Pro, Camtasia, etc.) focusing on both quality and speed-to-market, as well as enhancing and maintaining existing learning materials

    Evaluation

    • Based on Kirkpatrick's levels of evaluation, measure the effectiveness of the training solution by analyzing learner feedback and testing data, addressing gaps as needed, summarizing findings, and share results / impacts with key stakeholders

    Teamwork / Culture

    • Collaborate with peers and other professionals in Learning organization to execute priority initiatives, improve / assess the effectiveness of training content, identify efficiencies, opportunities to leverage content, design approach, best practices, and innovation

    • Display a growth mindset by embracing new training technologies and approaches with emphasis on "digital first" design that leads to effective and efficient learning solutions

    • Partner with other professionals in the Learning organization work groups to execute priority initiatives, and improve / assess the effectiveness of training content

    • Appropriately follow team procedures, and demonstrate adaptability, be coachable and open to giving / receiving feedback

    Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

    • Expertise in advanced learning development, video, audio, and graphic tools

    • Knowledge of Learning Management System (LMS), course publishing, SCORM and AICC, eLearning taxonomy and the basics of Internet technology

    • Strong consulting, negotiation, and influence skills

    • Strong organizational and time management skills

    • Strong self-awareness and sense of accountability

    • Strong analytical and questioning skills

    • Proven accomplishment in building relationships with customers and internal clients

    • Able to synthesize and distill large amounts of information into key messages

    Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

    • Bachelor's degree in learning and development, instructional design, educational technology or similar degree

    • 5 years of experience in designing, developing, and implementing instructional design solutions

    • 5 years of experience identifying root cause, performance gaps, recommending non-training solutions

    • Some exposure to developing for mobile devices, HTML5, JavaScript and other client-side languages would be helpful and not required

    • Financial services industry experience
