Infrastructure & Services, reporting to Highbridge's Head of Engineering. The Engineering Team is responsible to help code, build and support best in-class applications used throughout the Firm, interacting directly with users across both front office and back office in a dynamic environment. This Senior Engineer will partner with others on their team as well as our Investment Technology group and other Infrastructure teams at JPMorgan in support of Highbridge's AWS Cloud Platform
Job responsibilities
Implement systems that are highly available, scalable, and self-healing
Design, manage, and maintain tools to automate operational processes on AWS.
Automate security controls, governance processes, and compliance validation on AWS.
Demonstrates site reliability principles and practices every day and champions the adoption of site reliability throughout your team
Collaborates with others to create and implement observability and reliability designs for complex systems that are robust, stable, and do not incur additional toil or technical debt
Works toward becoming an expert on the applications and platforms in your remit while understanding their interdependencies and limitations
Evolves and debug critical components of applications and platforms
Provides comprehensive and ongoing guidance, tools, and solutions to support the firms' growth
Define and deploy monitoring, metrics, and logging systems on AWS and implement/Enhance infrastructure automation via IaaC using Terraform
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
Proven experience as an AWS Engineer or similar role
Strong understanding of AWS services, including EC2, EKS, S3, Lambda, VPC, RDS SQL Server, RDS Oracle and others
Experience working with Snowflake SaaS Datawarehouse Platform
Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
Experience with automation tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation
Experience with Datadog or similar Infrastructure Monitoring tools
Solid understanding of cloud security best practices
Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Operate in a fast-paced and highly demanding Hedge Fund environment.
AWS certification as an Architect, DevOps is preferred
Collaborate with third-party vendor systems for system integration, upgrades, and ongoing issue resolution.
